Vividred Operation
AniDB | Official

Release: 11.01.2013 till ?
Description: Friendship is the key to protecting the world.

That is everyone's wish. Here in a world where science has solved all questions.

This story is set in Oshima. The happy, carefree 14 year old Isshiki Akane lived a poor, but well loved life together with her reliable little sister, Momo, who does all the housework, and her grandfather, Kenjirou, a genius inventor who only created useless devices. When the weather is clear, they can see the artificial island, Blue Island, across the sea. In the center of that island rises the revolutionary Manifestation Engine, a discovery that solved the world's energy problems.

It is a peaceful future, just like everyone dreamed of. One where everyone can smile and be happy...

But suddenly, the world is visited by danger. An unknown enemy, the Alone, appear, targeting the Manifestation Engine. As none of their weapons worked and they fell into despair, a lone girl takes a stand wearing a red "Pallet Suit" which wields a great, hidden power. Before long, allies gather around her to fight.

And their friendship becomes the only hope for saving the world!

My first reaction upon seeing this thread was immediate excitement. Then I saw the the original cast isn't in it and my excitement dropped down several notches.

Still, more Strike Witches is still good news.

Actually, now that I think about it, I suppose it could still have some of the original cast. Perhaps one or two of the witches from the previous show are in charge of the unit or something.

The other ones where watchable, just some ridiculous episodes (ie, there was an episode where its 20minutes of chasing pants around <.<), the characters and story where better then i first thought though.

No Mio or Lucchini though? not amused.

Just keep in mind this information can still change. I've gotten this information directly from ANN since they translated what was interviewed or presented on one of the Anime magazines in Japanese.

I'd like to see confirmation that this is indeed a Strike Witches project. All I can tell from the info given is that it has the director of said show working on it, and that it may share a few similarities, but the character design, theme and setting don't seem to indicate a SW project.

I'm interested in this show all the same, but I think people might be very disappointed (or quick to judge) if they expect this to be a SW sequel or anything else related to it.

^ yes! i'll still watch it for the lolis, but i hope they're not just tagging Strike Witches onto it with only a tiny relation to the original series in the actual content to get more sales

From what I can see, they're not. Heck, like I said, it doesn't even seem to be a SW project at all. I don't know where Tatsu gets his info from, but neither the official site he linked to, nor ANN says it's a SW project and until I see confirmation that it is, I'm not going to treat it as such. That the SW director is doing the character design and overall direction says little about the contents of the show, other than what is known so far.

Oh Tatsu, you did it again.
Get us all hyped up for something that's entirely different than what you described it to be.

I've liked what I have seen from A-1 Pictures, and liked Strike Witches.  Peaks my interest.  The only bad thing that stands out is Guilty Crown so far, hope that is not the writers it's pointing out.
