Kingdoms of Amalur is not enough to save them. Sad, I had hopes for this group, even if I didn't like the majority owner.

Kingdoms of Amalur is not enough to save them. Sad, I had hopes for this group, even if I didn't like the majority owner.

The sadder thing for me is that they owned Big Huge Games, which is now going down with them. The Rise of Nations games are among my favourite games of all time, and now it looks like what tiny chance of a new one ever being made has just been shrunk to nothing :(

Rise of Nations was an amazing game... but I'm one of the few people who actually really loved Kingdoms of Amalur. It wasn't an innovative game whatsoever... but it definitely gave an MMO feel to a single player game (for some that is bad, but it fit well with the game).

I still haven't played it. I've been meaning to, but I've been reluctant to start a massive RPG like that in the middle of exams. Hopefully I'll get around to it in a couple of weeks though, because it does actually sound like a decent game.

I had two friends working on the MMO.  Hopefully they will be able to find a new job soon :(
