I didn't think I'd enjoy this (as it is about singers... marketing scheme) but it's actually not that bad.

Can only agree, got hooked on this after first ep, dunno why. It just feels very well composed in the story line somehow. Not too wild, not too casual.

So.. I have been investigating AKB48 references through out the episodes so far. Trying to spot all songs used so far and such.

Im not sure if I should write anything in this post within spoilers but since it doesnt really spoil anything of the story it's just an analysis of the show so far with story irrelevant findings so I just put this warning first. If you find a list of what AKB48 songs are present in each episode of AKB0048 a spoiler, BEWARE, don't read on.

So we start of with
ep01:
(click to show/hide)Song1: AKB48 - Aitakatta This song is wiedly used through out the anime, so far I heard at least three other versions of it in the background in different situations.
After Aitakatta they perform another AKB48 song I have no clue what english title it has(somone help me please): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RHhc2kRPgQ
Midway through the episode there  is a background slow version of (Heavy Rotation playing. This is followed by Yuuka doing an application recording singing a short part of AKB48 - Shonichi

ep02:
(click to show/hide)Near middle of the episode tsubasa says to dispatch the AKB ship the Flying Get witch is also a title of an AKB48 song. Its uncertain wether its the big mothership that has this name or if its the smaller stage ship also seen in episode 1.
Later on when AKB appears there is another song playing that im uncertain of any english title, they sing "We are AKB" is that the name?

(click to show/hide)In this episode there are two occurances of the song AKB48 - Beginner along with Aitakatta again.
ep04:
(click to show/hide)This episode starts off with AKB48 - The Lemon Season followed by a short part of Heavy Rotation.
Rest of this episode has AKB48 - Shonichi playing several times.

ep05:
(click to show/hide)No special songs playing in this episode except the ordinary backgrouund symphony version of Aitakatta again.
ep06:
(click to show/hide)This episode starts off with a video playing the song AKB48 - Sounds Good!
There is another song playing later in this episode with lyrics about haters I havent been able to identify it as any original AKB48 song yet.
ep07:

Later AKB48 - Golden Center is being played in short as well.
And ofc again the wonderful symphonic background version of Aitakatta. :)
ep08:
(click to show/hide)Nothing new here sadly, the episode starts of with Aitakatta performed in concert with the standins.
Later on there is also a background version of Shonichi playing.
Aside from this it was finally comfirmed that the "Flying Get" is the name of the smaller stage ship that flies down to the planet else docked on top of the mothership.
ep09:
(click to show/hide)77th generation start off with a new song this episode, its AKB48 - Heart-Shaped Virus followed by AKB48 - Seesaw Game Of Tears(a few seconds of the beginning of this one).
After this the real show starts off with AKB48 - River.
Later the four stars of the show sing a calm balad of a song thats probably not any AKB48 song becuse I cant seem to find it anywhere.

(click to show/hide)This episode starts off with the end of AKB48 - To be continued playing. Later in this episode we also get to hear a practice session of AKB48 - Seaside Cherry aside from that we find out that the understudies are gonna have an own debute concert soon and they will be performing two new songs. In fact yuuko is found practising on one of them, more on that ep13.

(click to show/hide)Not much singin in this one but finally at the end the concert startsa off with the song AKB48 - Oogoe Diamond.
ep13:END
(click to show/hide)The concert finally continues with a restart and AKB48 - Seaside Cherry is first up. Next up come the first of the two new songs witch is in fact the AKB0048 Ending Theme we have heard this entire season No Name - Yume wa Nandomo Umarekawaru, later followed by the second new song thats Guess what? the AKB0048 Opening Theme we heard allready of course :) No Name - Kibou ni Tsuite. The episode and season then ends with the girls performing
AKB48 - Yakusoku yo following a great staff roll with another AKB0048 exclusive song, No Name - Niji no Ressha.
And since there are still plenty of unused AKB48 songs so they took the oppertunity to announce a season 2 coming 2013. :)
ep14:CONTINUATION(S2 ep1)

This new seasons first episode starts of with the two old songs AKB48 - Shonichi and No Name - Niji no Ressha. performed before the title.
During the action towards the end of the episode the new song(for AKB0048) AKB48 - Pioneer.
