Honestly, I'm getting sick of this popping up over and over and over again. I'm sick of people trying to find excuses for killers. Why can't demented people just be demented? So what if he played WoW and Modern Warfare? Millions and millions of normal ass people play those games every day - some of which longer than the defendant. Demented is demented regardless of their chosen pastimes.

Would be great if they would make it illegal to sell certain games to kids under 18, then they would have to start blaming the parents like they should have from the start =P

In America, many states do make it "illegal" to sell games to customers outside their rating. Beyond that, most distributors have plans in place to require carding people trying to buy M rated games, etc. The problem is that it's a system that requires human interaction and, honestly, most people just don't care.

Beyond that, parents will buy those games for their kids anyway without doing any research at all. For example, my mother in law bought the last GTA game for her 11 year old son because he asked for it. She did not research and then got mad that someone would make a game that involved killing prostitutes for fun. She even went so far as to blame her son for not telling her about it.

This trial is already a ridiculously long one, no need to use more of our tax-payer's money on nonsense that will not affect the outcome in any way at all. Fuck, we already know the outcome: He will get maximum sentence of 21 years and when his time is served, he will get another 5 years of "containment" which will be renewed as long as he is deemed a danger to society. Being a killing spree record holder, he will be deemed a danger to society for as long as he lives and thus will effectively get an imprisonment for life.

Anyway I can use such logic as well as the media:
Breivik founded a company, thus all CEOs are potential murderers
Breivik was voting for "Progressive party", thus all who vote for them are potential terrorists (actually media over here tried to play that angle, the Progressive party actually had a decline in votes)
One of Breivik's friends was a Muslim. That surelly means that befriending Muslims will turn you into a right wing extremists

(oh the hypocrisy!)
... and I could keep going with a list from his favourite food to favourite vacation spots (yes that is the extent of the annoying media coverage of him over here)

Nowadays it's more common to play video games, than not. I would love to bitchslap those reporters for being such retards after I bitchslap Breivik himself for failing to assassinate the actual politicians (especially that bitch that partially sold us over to EU through EFTA agreement), instead killing irrelevant targets.

I played WoW longer than him everyday for like 3-4+ years and I'm perfectly fine. I still play WoW because it's that good ... only when you're playing with friends - the game's content (not classes) is boring after a while without an update.

The politicians are right. As we all know there was no such thing as murder before video games came around. In fact I'm pretty sure that violence itself was invented for the first video games.

It's easier to blame the violence in games for violent outbursts of some people than admit that the society is getting desperate because they can't do anything else, government will put the blame on something unrelated and will make it related just to redirect focus from something that actually matters.

If games were really the source of all the violence, i fear the day all gamers start ganking politicians.
or maybe, i'm gonna buy a crate of beer and enjoy the politics for once when that happens.

Yeah, it's really ironic that politicians know nothing about the really violent games like Warhammer 40K/Postal/Fallout/etc.

It's always GTA/WoW... WoW is rated Teen while GTA is not anymore violent than any one mature rated movie.
