Nintendo's Stock Drops After Lackluster E3

I'm just a little annoyed that after I finish Xenoblade and Skyward Sword, my Wii becomes defunct in 2012.
E3 would've been the first opportunity to get people like me to consider buying the Wii-U for my parents or grandparents based on the more casual reviews. Which at the moment I don't see myself doing. I can already see it rotting away in a dark corner somewhere as they play on their iPads and DS.
Perhaps my perspective is skewed, but my doubt flags are raised fairly high now. They don't care about things like exclusive games or read any sort of hype, my parents just want something they can dive into without effort and enjoy themselves with friends. The Wii was obviously that, the Wii U just complicates that needlessly. They should have followed through with what Wii started and Kinect failed miserably at, mastered motion gaming -- with fancier graphics and better performance.

I agree with this statement. The WiiU should have been a significant upgrade in hardware inbetween the current PS and Xbox and the next generation of those respective consoles. The Wii is already what, $100? Slap in 4 GBs of shared memory/VRAM and slap in a modified version of AMD's A8-33870K APU and a 100 GB harddrive and BAM. A true successor of the Wii with much better graphics and still sells for $300 at launch.

And I won't either until they make more games like Zelda: Skyward Sword. I am not even sure that's a good game, but it looks like the closest to the games I enjoy. And for third-party games I am personally fine with playing Batman: Arkham City and Assassin's Creed III on PS3 and PC. I have no desire to play a watered version of it on WiiU. Microsoft's was good since it featured games that come out on PS3 and PC as well. And Sony was best since I obviously only have one of the three consoles. I couldn't care less about Nintendo, and nothing they featured made me want to get a WiiU.
More "hardcore" games on the Wii I don't know about? Also, is there a game on WiiU already that REALLY showcases what it can do with graphics?
zherok:
So far as I know the Wii U is a leap over the PS3/360 hardware. The issue is less how well games like Batman: AC and ACIII will run, but the fact that they're aiming at current generation games to begin with, and how far ahead the competition will be when they release their hardware.
I mean, you can already play Batman on three different platforms. And depending on how late the Wii U launches it might not even be out in time for ACIII (while again being the FOURTH way to play a game.)

Nintendo wont die. . .its a big part of my childhood. . . :(
I'll buy the company as soon as I make my first 2.5 billion, that will be my top priority

Nintendo has been dead to me since they released the N64. Not only have they released inferior systems compared to the competition but aside from a select number of games, they have had little to offer the hardcore gamer. And most of the games on their consoles that do appeal to hardcore gamers have also been available on superior systems.
I miss the SNES days :-[
