Ah. Traveling to Europe/UK. 1 year worth of my living allowance. Have fun anyways.

I m a new member i would have came if you did something fun like play football or tennis or something. Or is that all of the staff members are old people above 40's.

Football would be confusing ... considering I would wonder if we are gonna play touch, flag or tackle football ... and yes I am talking about American football ... for all you non-Americans.
I can serve a tennis ball but sadly I never got good at lobbing it back ... I avoid playing any sports that require a ball like object to be throw, kicked or hit around ... I tend to get hit in the face and my glasses get all out of whack. I really really hate that.
Also, more that 90% of the staff is not even over 30 yet ...

I live in Kent, so it's a bit of a trek for me. However I could be interested, assuming cheap hotels were organised/suggested. I suggest going to a hotel and finding out if they would consider a mass booking discount, most would as I've done something similar to this before (sports related) we got a 50% discount with 10 peopled booked.
I'm not new, I just keep quiet and read :D How would it be taken for some of us 'quieter' members to come along and have some fun. Someone stated early that they'd like to come but they ARE relative new. No-one got back to them about it. Could we recieve an answer about that?
If I am 'allowed' to go by the staff, I could potentially offer a lift to 4 people, assuming petrol money was offered of course(i probably wouldn't take it just spend it on food :D). Also it'd only be from kent to london then on up to york.
Alternatively, we could arrange a train journey meet up, for social and logistic reasons.
Thanks and sorry for long winded postXP

Yeah, totally boring. Don't bother coming please. We'd like to have people who are interested in the same things as us attend.
There will be no football taking place. Why would I pull someone across the world for a football game? We want to TALK and have FUN.
I don't like getting sweaty in a game like football. It's a gay person game... >_> A group of sweaty men chasing each other... "Tackling" each other then showering together.. Ugh.
I'm 23. I'm hosting something that -I- want to do. You don't have to come if you think it'll be boring. You're entitled to your own opinion I suppose, but I don't really care about it.
We had a brilliant time last time, apart from a few things I wasn't too pleased about.. But never mind that. It was fun and we'll probably make it a yearly event from now on depending on how bothered I am. :)

Haha totally agree, truth is it bugs me how much people over here love football (im talking British football for the non brits), your description of it is funny enough the way i have described it for the last few years. Anyways i don't see whats wrong with having a chat and a laugh with some new people sharing similar interests over a drink, truth is i love these sort of things :D When i go anywhere with some my friends i made through the net (so normally only now and then due to locational differences) we normally like to have a chat and a drink (for us who are 18+ anyway, otherwise just a chat and wander), i think its a great way of meeting some hidden faces in reality and enjoy one's self.
(Also i totally agree with others, 40 year olds can do anything us younger ones can, i just turned 20 and i feel there are many 40-50 year old's who could put me in place ^^)
Anyways a quick question as a non known member, are newbies welcome? (well actually im no newbie, i been here since late last year just not a active forum user) - now i assume the answer here is a yes.
What i mean is, how would this event fair for new users? Like it's nice to get together but is it common to all just somehow chat to each one (person)? I mean, normally people swan off into friend groups, not exactly the case but if you have 3 people who which chat alot on the forums they of course will talk more with each other, for people who don't actively use the forums i don't suppose you know if they still manage to mingle in well? (Im busy so only drop by the forum now and then but there's still alot of weeks to join in here if needed).
Just sorta nice to know what to expect as a non frequent forum user.
Otherwise as for attending i might be able to make it, of course depends, i sometimes work Saturday sometimes im free, but if need be i will try working more to get Saturday and Friday night off (10am means im best to arrive Friday night as i wouldn't make it otherwise).
Being in Nottingham it wont be cheap but its sure not deadly expensive, infact its probably cheap if you aren't spending alot on studies like i do so i don't think travel will be a issue and i imagine i can find somewhere well priced ^_^
So, as a background character i might make a appearance as i love the idea of this meet and i think its a great way to meet some good friendly members of the community (as long as im not the only 20 year old xD)
EDIT- just want to add it's nice seeing events held in england, i do feel sorry for US people of course but normally on so many sites we dont see much so i like seeing this stuff ^^

I've always planned a flyfishing trip to GB. If I can go on vacation, I'll join. And after that enjoy one week flyfshing. That would be great. Lets see what I can do.
