Co-op Games on PSN ?
« on: June 15, 2012, 09:40:28 AM »
Hello!

Was wondering if there are any cool co-op gems on the PS Store?

Not looking for anything in particular but if there is any 2 player action rpgs that would be swell.

Also im only interested in offline games, friend coming over and i don't really have that much to do.

Can't do regular activities at the moment since i broke my leg so indoor gaming is pretty much the only thing i have to offer my friends at the moment.

Castle Crashers is up to four players. Side scrolling beat-em-up with some RPG elements.

DeathSpank and its sequels/spinoffs are co-op RPGs I think, only seen someone else play it though.

Outside of PSX titles RPGs are somewhat rare on PSN so far as I recall. Co-op ones would be even rarer. There's a good chance I just don't know about some of them though.

As far as just co-op goes, there's a Bomberman title or two up that's definitely co-op, really any Bomberman likely supports it. The most recent was pretty decent. There's some persistent elements tied to your account, but they're purely aesthetic unlocks.

I remember picking up Final Fight: Double Impact awhile back (the "double" is another Capcom side scroller called Magic Sword, has nothing to do with Final Fight.) Both co-op games. Magic Sword has some very minor RPG elements.

In that vein, the vast majority of Capcom arcade games are co-op, but I'm not sure how many are up on PSN without looking. What I do know is up is a ton of Neo Geo games. You'll definitely want to check before you purchase any, but almost all of them were co-op. Kinda expensive

Beyond that... pretty sure there's a Contra game up (Hard Corps Uprising?) that wasn't on a previous console. No idea how good it is though.

Lastly, found a co-op list here: http://www.co-optimus.com/system.php?id=12&page=1

Might help better than my rambling.

Matt Hazard is a Contra like game. Trine 2 should also have a one screen multiplayer (fantasy adventure-platformer).

I wasn't calling you out on anything. Just saying that most of the RPGs on PSN are PSX titles (I mean specifically ones you can buy ON PSN, not just PSX titles in general).

Barring re-releases like those PSX titles, the lower price points tend to attract mostly arcade games.

I played Baulders Gate on the PS2 which is RPG co-op which was really fun. You'd have to pick that up in a store though. Or I'll sell it for £60 and post it to you. >_)>

I loved playing the Dark Allaince games (particularly the first one) with my brother when I was a kid. We still get into arguements about which was better, his ax or my box. In either case it doesn't matter when my ball lightning just slaughtered anything that dared to get near it.
