Thunderbolt Hard Drive
(1/1)
animebum:
So I'm contemplating on getting a new HD and I've seen that there are thunderbolt HD's from Lacie and WD. What do you guys think? Is it worth it to get something like that?
vuzedome:
Do you have Thunderbolt capable motherboard?
Or wait, you've bought the latest and greatest that Apple has to offer?
If it's the former, good for you, go ahead and buy the hard drive because it's worth it.
If you're a mac fag, why are you even asking us, you probably have already bought it buy now because you seem to have a lot of money sitting around since you ca afford those macs.
Yes I now this feels personal because it is, several of my good friends have been really flaunting their Apple products and I just want to take it off their hands and bash it into their skull.
Tri_Edge:
A motherboard with Thunderbolt will set you back $500 but you get nice features.

I know that feeling, my sister boyfriend is an Apple fanboy and listening to him talking about how great it is really gets on my nerves.

Lol I do own macs, but they're 4-5 years old and it'll be way in the future if I'm ever gonna buy a new one. But yes, I do have a Thunderbolt capable motherboard. I'm just trying to convince myself (and have others convince me) to get one :P.
vuzedome:
Well I'm happy to know that you've bought something more sensible than a Apple product recently.
If you just want a simple portable external solution, USB 3.0 is more than enough.
But if you want to daisy chain a few externals into one single slot, Thunderbolt is the way to go.
