"900p" or 1080p monitor?

Black borders are kinda redundant when the monitor itself black bordered.

nao, have you ever saw a movie run at 1920x(>)1080p? i mean 1920x900 for example, where the top and bottom part is filled with black lines, it feels more movie like that way.

I see what you are saying and I agree, but I think a monitor looks its best when viewing a source that is equivalent to the native resolution, in terms of quality. I do agree that the black bars seem cinematic, however I wouldn't want huge black bars. Just a tad bit, because watching Hidan No Aria in 720P on my 768P looks kinda different. None the less making the screen seem bigger, but different.

thats why 1920x1080p looks best with animes, and 1920x1200 looks best with movies.

Stop messing with microscopic monitors, get a 46" LCD LED tv to act as your monitor. Problem solved :)
