Not everyone.

If you buy a new laptop in a months time or so. You'll get win 8. Whether you like it or not.

It's like Moore's law for Windows. Every even number Windows will be crap, and every odd number ones will be better.

Dunno, man. The OS needs to be good in the first place.

I think apple has managed very good in synching, and still maintaining a big difference between iOS and MacOS

Even if they are to be synched, PC interface is not remotely close to a multi-touch screen interface unless they add multiple mouse support. . .tho that would b a lil fucked up

Microsoft should really take a leaf out of Linux' book and separate the GUI from the rest of the OS. That way they can make a normal desktop interface, a Metro-style touchscreen interface, etc, and users can just install whichever ones they need. It would have to be done carefully, making sure they were as compatible as possible etc, so as to avoid the many problems Linux has, but it would be a much better solution than forcing every user to install and use interfaces they don't want and that are not an improvement.

I'd rather have microsoft create an open source version of direct X so I can play games on linux and I won't have to pirate windows anymore. Or more games should support opengl

I still don't see the point of Windows RT which is completely locked down and doesn't run any "legacy" programs. It's also fat. So fat in fact you will only have about 20GiB free space OOB(32GB model).
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

I presume it's because no old Windows programs could run on ARM.
