No. You don't. It must suck to be you, stumbling through life so clueless and stupid.
There were links. They provide copious information, lots of vocabulary to search out the issues. If you can't read for comprehension and do your own homework, don't think for a minute I'm going to waste my time trying to "explain" anything to you. It's pretty clear where you're coming from and I won't engage you in your "I haz a unconcerned and MICROSOFT IZ T3H AWSOMES" trolling.

They clearly state - information about apps might (=absolutely will) get sent if you do not TURN it OFF. And then here comes pro Linux and pro Apple fans - "OOOH THAT SLEAZY MS SNEAKING SPYWARE... OH NOOO, NOT JUST IN WIN8, BUT VIA SNEAKY SSSSNEAKY (MASKED AS A IMPORTANT SECURITY, SO SNEAKY ZOMG) WIN7 PATCH (maybe)". :D
If you sign up for "I want to get fucked" and then you get fucked, deal with it and maybe you're the clueless one.
Still don't get what's all the fuzz about. If they were to send information and I couldn't prevent - yea, I would go back to FreeBSD or ArchLinux.
--- Quote ---The bigger concern though, as that Ars article pointed out, is that every single Metro app HAS to be installed via the Windows store. So, in other words, every program that makes any use of the new Windows 8 features, has to be downloaded straight from Microsoft anyway. Who can then link that data to, at the least an email address, and potentially a name and billing information too.

Okay, deleting (or will those sleazy bastards will really delete my profile??) Facebook, Gmail, Steam, Origin, Battle.net, Paypal, eBay, Amazon (omg they know what I buy :OOOOOO), Last.fm, xBox Live, PSN accounts. And my bank's e-system account. Because... Damn, they know my incomes, what and how much I pay for and OMG OMG OMG OOOOOMMMMMGG. And then smash my phone - they know what numbers I called.
Oh wait, welcome to 21st century, it must be new to you.

microsoft will always be like that, and i doubt they'd ever change. if you don't like it, don't get it, as simple as that. or better yet, gtfo the thread.

So is Google, Apple and everyone else. Old reality. Why it's getting escalated again? Weak argument against Windows 8.
nstgc:
MS will probably turn around and modify or revoke most of the features that are going to make this a failure as a desktop OS in their next Windows OS. It'll be the new Vista. There really is no reason to bitch about it. 7 is a fine OS as far as Windows goes, people just won't switch. It happened with Vista it will happen with 8.
kitamesume:
the only OSes that really worked well were windows98, windowsXP and windows7, all those inbetweens like windows2000 and windows vista had too much issues with them that made people stick with their current OSes during their time. the same thing seems to be happening with windows8, indeed.
