Flashy Male Cosplay Suggestions

Hey guys and girls,

There is an anime convention coming up, where I live obviously, in about 5-6 months. Since I may or may not have to search for AGES and make some of this stuff myself I thought I would ask now.

So: what are some flashy, cool anime characters to cosplay as for a MALE?

I do watch anime, but often of the wrong genre for this. I watch more slice-of-life based series, or ones where there aren't really super-exotic outfits.

That said, something that stands out (if done correctly). No Naruto or bleach please ;)

heh.

ok jokes aside is there any given theme you want? like cyber-punk or magical, maybe school-esque well anyway it should narrow down the lists people would give you.
also your given physical size would make a difference in these suggestions, like for example a tall person wouldn't fit an index cosplay nor will a chubby guy fit touma cosplay.

ps: flashy cool cosplays tends to be cyber-punks or big-ass sword/gun wielding characters since these things tends to mask how ugly the person is, well no offense. or simply you're a living bishonen cosplaying FMA:Edward, FF:Cloud or CG:Lelouch.
also do note that doing a bigshot cosplay like bleach, onepiece, naruto, etc. would get you ridiculed if you do it wrong, specially from critics. so you outa stay away from those.

First thing I thought of, was Hellsing. But I guess that one is pretty popular anime to pick cosplay outfits from.

Sorry, not very familiar with cosplay, but I think it's a fun concept;)

Lelouch - Code Geass

Ezreal - League of Legends (if you play of course :P)

Guts - Berserk

Kamina/Simon - Gurren Lagann

Solid Snake - Metal Gear Solid

Hei - Darker Than Black

Ginko - Mushishi  (Probably the least likely to stand out)

The cloak should be straightforward; the mask would require some work (if crafting it).

other characters worth mentioning:

- Cloud Strife (shoulderpad is totally flashy)

- Vincent Valentine (the costume itself is pretty flashy)

- Arthas the lich king (WCIII)

- Syaoran (from Sakura CC)

- Alucard (Hellsing)

To suggest anything, we'd need a picture of yours. As a fat "anything from clamp" or a skinny teenager as Batou from ghost in the shell would look hilarious.

Clearly, the obvious answer is Hikaru Daitokuji from Project A-ko 2 in this scene. Regardless of body type, you would be noticed.

I did mean Zero, but really any of his outfits would work.  For schoolboy, make sure you have the hair and contact.  Emperor Lelouch would work wonders as well ^_^

FF8 squall could be good

it's really hard to suggest something if we don't know your height and build at the very least, the resources available to you (like is the costume tailor made or premade, or something from your wardrobe), also the type of props that you're able to procure.
