Reember the move Surrages -- its like that, but real
« on: August 02, 2012, 02:27:28 AM »
http://www.cbc.ca/news/yourcommunity/2012/07/human-immortality-could-be-possible-by-2045-say-russian-scientists.html

Personally I'd rather not have someone play with my body. Cybernetics seem to leave too much room for external control by people who have no right to them.

A perfect copy of you is still not you. That's not really immortality.
Don't just assume that you are right. Verify with the best tools available and if you are wrong, change your mind and you will become right.

The idea is that you will still have your own brain and so it will be you. I used the movie Sarragates for some reason, but its more like the Cybermen from Dr. Who and exactly like Ghost in the Shell.

If they managed to do so i would try it. I was always good in keeping my system clean and safe  :P
[18:20:14] <+kurandoinu> How surprising. A conversation with gits turned to physics. That never ever happens.

From what they're saying, that'll be like immortality in another plane of existence. That's a clunky concept of immortality. I'd be better off with them coming up with some kind of design where a good portion of my body becomes mechanized or something (or they do some kind of biological treatment or something), which in my opinion is a bit more practical than the shit they're going for anyway. At the least I doubt it'll be quite that much more difficult.

Cute, huh?
