I used to pirate 100% of them, (like 6-7 years ago)
but then I fell for online gaming. . . so I only pirate "single player" games, but I dont play any so. . .I dont pirate games anymore. . .

I mean i downloaded the ISO for dead island, but I havent even touched it. . .I was also thinking about amnesia, but again. . .I havent even played the demo which I have

online gaming is all I do and they require purchase

Well I only buy games after they've been out for awhile or I really trust the IP and the people developing it. I think the only games I'm gonna outright buy off the shelf with no research anymore are elder scrolls games (of the single player variety that is).

I used to be a fan of Bioware, but ME3 and DA2 were piles of rancid horse shit so yeah...

Also, a console (360) is what I use for gaming, as the computers I have can't handle modern games very well. So no Pirating games for me :-\

Yes. I don't feel guilty either. Although I did buy SSF4 AE because the game is boring as fuck playing by yourself.

I pirate most visual novels I play.

On western games the only game I've pirated recently was Mass Effect 3 because Origin/EA/etc.

I pirated a lot of games in my life, only to find out that I spent 30 minutes on most of them before uninstalling and was thanking god that I didn't use money on that crap.

I don't want to support that ridiculous DRM that Ubisoft placed on it.

This

I have always downloaded tons of stuff but I rarely buy or even play AAA titles any more because they are mostly crap but if there is a good game from a small developer or non shit publisher I buy it.
Dont know what to put here

Well, Ubisoft are constantly bragging about how amazingly effective their god-awful always online DRM has been. But if that were the case, then there couldn't possibly be a 95% piracy rate for their games, because there's no way anyone in their right mind could possibly consider that to be a success. So they're clearly lying about something.

Personally, I pirate a lot of games. But only really when I suddenly get a random urge to play something (which happens often), but aren't interested enough to want to ever spend any money on it. For the games I genuinely want to play, I usually buy them. The exception to this is Ubisoft games - when I want to play one of those, I always pirate it, because, as a few people have already mentioned, there's no way I can possibly justify spending my money to support their horrible DRM.

Didn't Ubisoft at one point have DRM that allowed outsiders to run arbitrary code on hosts?
Nevertheless, 95% is a complete lie at best.

Yep, their always-online Uplay DRM also installs a browser plugin which allows Ubisoft to run an arbitrary application on your computer - unfortunately it also had a vulnerability which allowed any website to do so. Nobody knows what purpose this plugin is supposed to serve, and Ubisoft refused to explain (or remove it), but they have now patched the vulnerability. Ubisoft still have access to it though (so my advice is to uninstall that plugin ASAP).

I pirate only for a demo. Like last game - pirated Skyrim (had doubts after Failblivion), played for 1 hour - bought new for xBox (like to stay in party chat and join their other games when I get bored). Pirated Modern Warfare 3, got bored after 30 minutes, no buy. :P

Does EA's Origin have anything like that. I know that they use to, but does anyone know if they still do? Even if I don't have any pirated programs, I still don't like the idea that they may be able to snoop around my computer.

I wouldn't mind if it was just them snooping around. What really pissess me off is that they are giving this info to 3rd parties.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

Not as far as I know. They certainly don't have browser plugins allowing them to execute an arbitrary program on your PC, and I think they're less likely to do something like that than Ubisoft (who I sometimes think must be going out of their way to piss off their customers on purpose, for some reason best known to them). But it's quite possible they do.

That said, you could also say the same for Steam, Itunes, or any other similar piece of DRM software you have installed.

I try to avoid the more invasive DRM software like StarForce. As far as I know neither Steam nor SecuRom are particularly invasive. SecuROM is anoying, but I don't think it does anything too terrible.

I was referring more to the corporate-run walled-garden store/DRM client software such as Steam, Itunes, Origin, UPlay, etc. I'd say EA is no more likely to be spying on you than any of the rest of them.

Malware like Starforce is another matter entirely.

I think most people pirate because they like to try before they spend $60 on a game.

Me? Not really. I usually buy the PC games that have good PC support.

I usually pirate single player games till they come down from their initial price. Multiplayer I will buy or wait.
