I feel like the only thing this show manages to do is annoy me. I hope it gets better... :/

Sounds like me when I saw RDG.

I'm not fully sold yet, but it shows potential with the developments in the second episode..

I like the world these characters are in, and the whole 'water people and land people should not mix' theme (even though there's already evidence that the reason for it might be complete BS), but the main characters themselves don't really do me much. Hikari's possessiveness over Manaka is terribly annoying (why can't he just tell her he's in love with her?), and Manaka herself is a bit too childish for my likings. Chisaki seems to be the only mature girl of the bunch, and she keeps getting the short end of the stick, given that Hikari won't give up on Manaka anytime soon.

I'm still following this, because I'm curious if this will change anytime soon, but it's not really looking good right now.

Isn't that pretty standard in anime? It's certainly true in more cases than not, I think.

Oodles of plot and character development in Episode 4: good stuff! Fast paced but not 'forced' or confusing at all.

There's hope for this series! Give it to Ep.5 & hope the writers can maintain the momentum!

See?
SEE?
It took a few episodes to "set the groundwork".
NOW things are moving along... brilliantly!  :)

For all the "Nattering Nabobs of Negativity" who doubted?

Give anime series more than 2 or 3 episodes! Some just take a while to make their claim, eh?

i like this kind of show, slow-paced, feels like watching 2 episode-worth in one episode...we'll see about the rest episode...

I have a feeling that Kaname might be the one who will solve and make peace of their problems?
He seems quiet and all but I think he's the most knowledgeable one among all of them. :)

I am trying to decide if this is a show about racism, or about making peace with former enemies who were at war shortly before the story, or both. Racism of the variety that is not so outwardly easy to distinguish, especially if one is not from the cultures involved. I am thinking of the Barukumin of Japan as the people of whom this show is identifying with.

I think racism is definitely prevalent, though I do think it's more limited to the sea people hating on the land people than vice versa. It seems to have a reason though: a girl from the sea that mates with a man from the surface will produce offspring that cannot breathe underwater, so if all girls did this, the underwater city would quickly run out of inhabitants, which is obviously bad.
