There had better be a big payoff later in this series, as we are only getting dribs and drabs of satisfaction so far. But then I am guessing the creators were hoping to more fully demonstrate how difficult it is to integrate two separate societies, and cultures.

I would definitely agree on that. Nagi's voice is unmistakable, and the composer, Chiaki Ishikawa made a really interesting piece. The song is just heavenly :D
