Would a Samsung BD player plays any mkvs?

(1/1)

kamuixtv99:
Planning on getting one. It says on their pdf that it plays mkvs. Not sure if it's the standard that we use here in bbt.

vuzedome:
Well if you want your softsubs then it's not going to be very useful.

kitamesume:
players arent meant to play those kinds of files, but sure they support them to some degree, although with a solid exception of 10bit MKVs.

PS: if you want a player that plays everything then get a HTPC, costs you not much more than 500$ for a fully featured one (BD drive, sound card, etc.)

edit: concerning HTPC looks, theres these:

If you want an htpc hands down get the Acer Revo RL70 with xbmc12 running windows if you want HD audio if you dont care about dts-hd and such run openelc on it.
