Fraps playback with MPC-HC
« on: September 01, 2012, 03:24:34 PM »
When I try to playback fraps recordings in MPC-HC I get black video with sound. Playback in sony vegas works fine and if I compress the fraps file with x264 it will playback in MPC-HC so I'm assuming something is wrong with my MPC-HC settings. I'm currently using madVR with lav filters and xy-vsfilter

Have you tried opening the video with Windows Media Player?
Fraps recorded video should load just fine as the FPS1 codec should be installed when you install Fraps.

I've been trying but I disabled windows media player a while ago (before this started happening) and when I go to enable it I always get an error that not all windows features were installed and the checkbox is unticked.

EDIT: I have uninstalled fraps and tried reinstalling to see if it was a codec problem and nothing changed, although I can't find anywhere where the FPS1 codec is mentioned so I'm thinking that's the issue somehow.
