There's a toaster that makes milkshakes coming out soon. Apparently you turn the toaster on but without bread in it. Give it five seconds to heat up, then pour milk in. Its for real because I saw it in my daydreams.

/sarcasm.

Any good SSD to look out for soon?

nothing amazing.

although theres a few bit of 1TB SSDs thats should come out late 2014 with a price-tag of $400, further tilting down the $/GB ratio.
quite a bit of the recent lines had already touched south of $500 which makes it a meager change though.

EVO is priced $450, thats not quite $400 @ 40cents per GB.

Look for specials and you may find it.  I used a coupon code to drop the price from $460 to $420 and I used another coupon code to get 10% back in store credit, so it was more like $378.   (link to promo)

There is always variation on the price.  Some will sell higher, some will sell lower, and some will let you haggle the price.  The way I see it, the average street price seldom determines what you can pay for it and the earlier you take the opportunity to buy it, the earlier you get the benefit of using it earlier.

no that makes no sense, MSRP is a fixed stated price by the manufacturer and you can't do anything to change that.
MSRP is a base value, and base values are essential to determine a product's comparative pricing.

otherwise you wouldn't even be able to trace $/GB at all because of all the price variance by tax, promotional sales, bulk pricing, shipping overhead, etc.
not to mention you wouldn't even be able to compare price between countries with ridiculous tax and shipping overheads.

edit: by your logic those free thumbdrives i got because i purchased $500 worth of stuffs should be factored in the chart, which would've driven the $/GB ratio to $0/GB but it didn't.

The S in MSRP stands for "suggested" not "mandatory".  The retailer can sell the product at any price and a consumer looking for a bargain does not need to settle for MSRP.

The bottom line should be what you are willing to pay for something, whether you trust the place you are dealing with and when you want to get it.  There been many times when I have avoided the better price because I was unsure of the dealer or their ability to deliver.

Yes, if the freebies do deliver value to you then you factor the freebies into the value of the price you paid.  If the freebies are sitting around collecting dust then you are really not getting any value from the freebies, so you do not factor the freebies into the value of the price you paid because they might as well not existed in the transaction.

MRSP is a price the manufacturer suggests to the seller. A good example of this is the way Sturhling Watches abusesthe MRSP to make it seem like their watches are worth the large amounts of money. What they do is jack up the price and then heavily discount it to make it appear you're getting a deal.

Don't buy sturhling watches. They're made in china for pennies despite having a german name.

gosh, you don't get it, MSRP is a base value or a reference price, you can't compare something without a reference point.

edit: you wouldn't even be able to know if what you're buying is cheap or not if you don't have a reference point to compare it with.

PS: cheapness is not equivalent to worth, thats not the same case and neither means the same thing.
e.g. it might be cheap but its not worth it, the other way around is for it to be expensive but still being worth it.

edit2: not to mention "worth" is of personal opinion, and cheapness(pricing) has a standard to follow and that is you comparing it from a reference point.
you wouldn't call something cheap if you knew the MSRP was the same or lower than the set price.

Kita is right.

MSRP means manufacturers suggested retail price. Nothing else matters but this.

Can't find the RAID external I really liked any longer (I lost the link). It was 4-Bay and did not require to install a card controller. It was USB 3.0 or eSATA connection. Does anyone have it? Grr ...

5 Bay but the manufacturer is ... new? 5-bay to sport, no addon cards needed. Wonder how much TB per slot it can take.

Nevermind that one. Lots of bad reviews.

Yes, pixy. Thanks. Though I am going to avoid that company. They put bad power supplies in their enclosures.

I am interested in that Samsung 4K 10-bit TN panel monitor. I will wait for the reviews. It's probably the most interesting thing in a while now.

Edit: well, well. It seems samsung isn't the only one. ASUS and Philips have released the same product. I think samsung is probably manufacturing the panel and others are hogging it. Wonder why there have been no reviews till now seeing it's been in market for quite some days now.

what asus offers are a bit too expensive at $3500, DELL's 32" are also as expensive but they do have a 24" for $1300 which is cheap enough.

you can check the list in wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_4K_monitors,_TVs_and_projectors
theres no notes on which has 10bit panels though.

Nah. That's not what I am taking about. Check guru3d news section. ASUS an Philips also released 28" 4k TN panel monitor with 10-bit. They are proses around 50 to 100 dollars more than samsung. All three also have the same features as well.
