"Blacklist" button
« on: September 09, 2012, 04:47:48 AM »
Either I never noticed this before or its a new feature, but what exactly does the "Blacklist" button next to the wishlist and notify buttons do? I accidentally clicked it earlier and it said "in blacklist" but what actually happens? I clicked it again and like the other buttons, it removed it.

Does it submit a report to mods or something? Or does it put the series in some kind of 'personal' blacklist? I can't see anything about it on the wiki.

Was this implemented? Can't be sure though..
There is no greater natural advantage in life than to have an enemy over-estimate your faults, unless it is a friend under-estimating your virtues.

Personal blacklist. It simply greys out the torrent on browse list, user page, etc. It is mutually exclusive with Wishlist, and adding it to both lists will result in Wishlist taking priority. As of now, the only thing it is useful for is greying out entries. There is no list of blacklisted titles that can be viewed like Wishlist and Bookmarks. Adding a torrent to your blacklist does not automatically add the child torrents.

That's definitely new. I'm pretty sure I would have noticed that a few days ago, at most.

In that case, adding something to the blacklist won't completely remove it from your sight, right? I was kinda worried about that, like what if you wanted to un-blacklist something later on?

No, it does not permanently hide it. Like I said, it simply greys out the entry. You can still view the torrent, click the link, etc. It is more of an indicator than a 'list' per se.

Gotcha. You said "as of now" though, does that mean it will likely change in the future? Sounds like it's a beta or a work-in-progress when you put it that way.

We don't have any immediate plans for what to do with it, but that could change in the future. Just future-proofing my reply :P
