Download manager
« on: September 09, 2012, 08:40:05 AM »
I'm looking for a good program that i can use to download mutable links from a given paged without having to enter each and every link.  Thanks in advance and please don't just enter some search result listing as I'm looking for feed back based on personal use and not a million links to go though.

Neo Downloader and JDownloader come to mind, although they don't work everywhere.

The firefox plugin "Downloadhelper" has worked for me every time. It automatically detects any loading media or linked media files on a page and simply copies it from your temporary files folder to wherever you set it to move them.
Seinen and Slice of Life cannot describe the same title, because daily life is too boring to be called a plot. Ecchi/fanservice is not plot either.

Im trying out Internet Download Manager (IDM) from http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/. It was on C|NET. So i gave it a try. Anyone know how to make it pause for a min between each download?

No such thing as free lunch, got to work for it.

Was not expecting a free lunch but not planing to spend more the $30.

Don't know if the one i found in the foxfire search is the one you both are talking about. Found RPNET  download helper and once i found out you need a subscription i got rid of it. If this was not the one your talking about pls add a url for me to find it.

What are you talking about paying for? Most of the ones mentioned above are plug-ins for firefox, and free, unless FF changed drastically in time I haven't been using it..

When i did a search for a download helper in fire fox i got 5-6 plug ins. Only 2 therefor files and the rest where for video. One i doesn't seem to work (don't ask me why) and the other (RPNET Download Helper 3.0) need me to log in and then said my subscription was expired.

what kinda sloppy internet needs a download pause? if i could i'd download a 100GB worth of series in one go so that i wouldn't need to wait after burning through each episodes ._. but alas speed limits are annoying.

DTA should be able to DownloadThemAll, hah hah hah hah, im not kidding.

if you wanna pause then pause it manually, you got hands right? wait, tentacles sounds better.

Normally i would be happy to do that, but since i don't make the rules of the web sight I'm trying to download from. I'm going to have to pause it so i can get the file i want and not a web page saying i have to wait. And oddly enough if they start giving you these pages they don't stop till you stop trying to download from there sight. Generally i think they don't like people using such programs.

I will i just asked in case i missed the option somwhere

If you mean like the 'please wait 60 seconds before downloading your file' things you get on sites like Rapidshare, then JDownloader at least is capable of handling those - but I believe it only has full functionality when dealing with a specific list of download sites, so I have no idea how it would work if the site you're using is not one of them. Not sure about any of the other suggestions, since I haven't used them.

Its like that. the only difference is that when you download the next link in the list before your time allows you get a message rather then the file. If you want to see more what i mean just try to download 5 files at one from here http://stoptazmo.com/manga-series/initial_d/  This is actually the second sight i remember off hand that dose something like this

A general-purpose download manager would not work for the kind of things that sites like rapidshare pull.

Jdownloader, but for your site then well you're gonna have to work for it, one after the other.
Or just go get your manga from somewhere else.

Meh, I'm a busy guy. The extra $$ is to motivate me to find time for this project outside of my studies and work. Besides, the $25 stuff is distributed, generalized software - I'd be writing this for a specific purpose for a single client.
