For laptops, if you can search up the specific model on notebookcheck.net it would be good. They have the best "realistic" battery life tests that I know of. For general use, don't look up the idle battery life. Search up what they say is realistic for "Surfing with WLAN" unless you are not going to use and actually turn off your wifi card.
If not on notebookcheck, then you can google search for other reviews (again, try to search for the specific laptop model) and assume the worst.
Laptop companies tend to list the maximum unrealistic battery life times. That said, Acer Timeline which was previously mentioned is generally pretty good for battery life (from what I have read).
As for NFS MW, I don't think that game supports widescreen resolutions.
