Ace just buy yourself a touchscreen smart phone and call it a day. Remember smart phones have to have big screens, how else are you going to be able to browse the net, view your emails etc? The smaller the screen the pointless the smart phone gets.

I can understand your issue if you are only going to use your phone for calls and texts, but it's all about integration of the phone and the computer. Why carry something in your pocket that can only make calls? Why not a mini social hub computer? The only real solid worthwhile argument I have seen against the smartphones is their shitty battery lifes, it is pure fail. These things need charging everyday.

I checked my mail for the first time in like 3 or 4 days. Got 6 mails and all of it was either spam or Steam purchase confirmation. I wonder why I would need a function like that when in my daily life I have access to a computer most of the day.

Same can be said about browsing the web. My motto is: if I am not sitting in front of computer, I am too busy to fiddle with it. A LED flashlight and a beer opener are some of the features I would want. After all when I to the town on a Friday night, a beer opener can come in handy as well as a retractable blade. Seriously though, my second phone had a LED flashligh... how I miss that feature on my current phone. None of you "social hub" faggotry feature could even compare to the usefulness of having a proper flash-light integrated into the phone.

While we are at it, it would be nice to have phones without cameras, so that employers don't take them away in fear of industrial espionage. Heh, my mom sure as hell has that problem at her work. I am just waiting for other companies to start same practice.

They've overcharged the pixels so that this response time is a lot lower.

You know that a lower response time is exactly opposite of lower speed, right?

It is really a shame Nokia accepted the deal with windows, when they are the company who is making the best hardware in the mobile industry. They wouldn't even have trouble separating them self from the rest, if they had went with android, because of their amazing hardware. Well Nokia did speak of a plan B if windows should fail yet again, which it most likely will, because of how badly Microsoft have managed windows phone 8 so far.

I've really only heard good things about Windows Phone 8. Care to link to some bad rumors or negative discussions to balance that out?

Besides, Windows 8 is a pretty terrible desktop environment, but it makes for a pretty nice tablet/smartphone interface.

That is interesting to know but how does it fare against the SuperAmoled and the HTC oneX IPS display?

Did you even read his link? The Lumia 920 features an IPS display.

As for IPS vs Super Amoled, see for yourself? I'm not sure what to conclude. It's hard to say which one is better because each side has its advantages over the other.

...Yes, it has a low response time so the pixels update faster. If it takes one PC 5 seconds to refresh a page, and another PC 3 seconds to refresh, then the 3 second PC can be said to have a lower response time and this updates faster.

http://blog.gsmarena.com/apple-iphone-5-display-compared-to-nokia-lumia-920-has-its-most-advanced-title-taken-away/

"I'm talking about how Nokia is fairing in the global smartphone market."

Who cares about that  ?

Good phone is good phone

Nokia fucked up with Symbian and WP7-8 is very good choice (it does not need x4 procesor like S3 to run smoothly)

That is interesting to know but how does it fare against the SuperAmoled and the HTC oneX IPS display?

There's been a lot of phones on the market(including iphone), that technically should have had the best screens but up close don't look anything special.

It's obvious you are a Nokia fanboy.
These are all you opinions which mean nothing

You are misunderstanding me, I'm talking about how badly Microsoft have been handling the launch date, which mean we have no idea when we can expect Windows mobile 8, and therefore no idea when we will be able to buy lumia 920. This harms the branding of the phone and when it is finally released, most people will have forgotten about the phone.

Am i the only one who thinks that Windows/iOS/Android are all crap? Windows 8 is crap even for the PC, so is the Mac OS in my opinion. I'm not a big expert in this, but lately, operating system have all been crap. Not even talking about smartphones, the systems in there are just pure crap. It's like the freedom of the user is cut in every OS update, companies are focusing on "markets" like iTunes, and everything seems dumbed down.

Different people, different needs.  I'm one of a few people exempted from my employer's no cellphone policy so I can take and share pictures from anywhere in the warehouse, use it as a flashlight, and have constantly updated access to email.

Due to its water/dust/drop resistance(1.5m drops onto concrete floors are a weekly occurrence), the Motorola Defy/MB525 has been indispensable for me, even better considering that I got it barely used for $100.

Yes. Read chapter 1-4 in "Bill Moggridge - Designing Interactions" and you will understand the direction the personal computer(pc/mac/smartphones) is taking.

Rather then create something totally new Apple, are just slowly perfecting the iPhone, which is brilliant tbh, so many people have ruined themselves by this, I mean who actually likes the windows 8 ?

This statement is all sorts of fail. They are not perfecting anything the Iphone 5 was pretty much lets try to include only apple things. Lets out youtube and google maps even though there is nothing out there that compares to both. I Think apple can survive without Steve Jobs But I think Steve kept the board members grounded and not only seeing dollars signs but to actually get the company to hold off releases to try to get perfection. They trusted his judgment but now that he is gone I dont think anyone replaced him with the same insight that people would follow. Current maps Is far from perfection And I think if steve was still around we would either not be seeing IOS 6 or it would be IOS6 with google maps still intact.

And we can argue about screen sizes all day. If you use your phone for talking and text messaging and maybe browsing the internet slightly sure a 3.5" 4.0" screen will fit your needs. If you are someone who watches lots of videos, views excel docs, does actually work on a phone then a 4.5"+ screen is good for you. There is no one screen fits all.

And apples ecosystem of making consumers by the same phone over and over is amazing i applaud them for that.  It amazes me How many people bought the iphone then the 3g then 3gs then 4 and 4s and just keep spending the money over and over not many companies can claim the same thing.

You can call me an apple hater or what not. but I give apple credit they revolutionized the touchscreen for phones and helped push for smaller form factor. But after that they have just been riding the wave. Sure siri was a try but it just expanded on all the other voice software that has been out and will just end in a fad. No one wants to sit there and yell command at there phone.

Then I'm not sure why you corrected me in the first place. =P

Oh, gotcha. That's also something I haven't heard much about though.

The new Lumia models 820 and 920 are set to release in Q4 2012 IIRC. I'd expect something presentable by then.
