Maoyuu Maou Yuusha

Description: After a long and treacherous journey, our Hero finally arrives at the Dark Lady’s castle only to find himself being asked for help. The Hero explains how the war that the demons have brought upon the humans have killed thousands and put more in misery. The queen of demons however argues that this war has made the human society band together as one and showed empirical evidence how it has increased population, increased production, boosted economy and improved society overall. Furthermore, she explains to the Hero that ending this war will result in a civil war that will produce more bloodshed than there ever was. The Hero, convinced that the only way to bring peace, relatively speaking, is to join forces with the Dark Lady, agrees to help with her plans!

And I'm done, going to work soon. :P

So it's getting an adaptation after all. Is it the novel or one of the maaaaaany manga adaptations that is being adapted?

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Wolf and Spice vibes al right. But it doesn't seem as good, yet. Too many boob jokes.

I guess it only makes sense someone would try to clone Spice & Wolf given how unique it is.

Holo is way more attractive though.

AniDB categories: Demons, Dystopia, Fantasy, Novel, Seinen

All right, sounds good so far.

Further categories: Boing, Boobs-in-Your-Face, Ecchi

Oh well, there's still Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman and Tamako Market.

There's like five versions of this and if it really is that version. I will probably feel the need to murder people.
Going to watch it now.

Meh, pretty bland.

Has horribly exaggerated breast physics, HotD style.

first episode is ok :)

hoping it wont be too much of a tease. . .

Ha! This guy is perfectly on target:
Quote from:  metalotaku from AniDB
There some interesting reflexion about the relation between economy and war in this serie. However, if the character remains as shallow as they seem on episode 1 and if the cheap fanservice is not downtuned drasticly, all the good ideas and the setting will be all waysted once again

I had a good time watching ep.1. I thought he agreed too quickly to her proposal. But what you gonna do in 1/2 hour show?

Usually war brings famines and plagues, not the opposite.

depends actually.

at the war, more precisely, where the war happens, that is mostly correct. but, industry output increases ten-fold, there are huge strides in several scientific fields and in some cases, there is a decrease in non-war related criminality. food shortages are resolved thru rationing which allows for a more even distribution, altho it also increases black market and corruption, which is where hunger comes from. It is because we had a World War I, that we have penicillin as widespread as it is today, and ambulances.

it is also arguable that the end of World War I was the starting point of for the Great Depression. War ramps up consumption quite considerably, but with the end of it, the consumption drops and the industry and producers continued with the production levels of wartime, which created an excess of stockpiles and subsequent extreme devaluation of consuming goods, thus leading to the 1929 Crash.

This didn't happened afterwards in WWII because you had already some regulation put in place, and the Korean war AND the cold war happened.

so yes, in the end War IS good for business.

Holo is way more attractive though.

The attractiveness in Horo comes from her character and how it interacts with Lawrence. As relationships go, it's basically that of two equals and in terms of anime, it displays a level of maturity commonly absent in the medium. This, on the other hand, feels like watching a crush between an 8 year old kid and a "chubby bookish onee-san" from a middle school.

Keeping that in mind, I find it quite interesting, that Horo is portrayed as a nubile youth and the Queen as a milf.

And that's when it got interesting. lol

Grimpak, umm  not quite. What you say is only true for wars beginning in the 20th century. Before that, not even close. Napoleon was the first to even have his army bring food with them on campaign. All other armies throughout history always foraged for food. Which meant taking everything anyone had on hand nearby. Maybe the people got paid, but that was a distinct rarity. Most had their daughters raped as payment. Pretty much all women were raped as the army went through. And it didn't have to be the enemy army to do it either.

The UN still cannot keep its peace keeping troops from either raping the locals, or turning them into prostitutes.

There was 11 years between the signing of the Armistice and the October crash on Wall Street. 10 years and 11 months if you want to get picky. That is far too long a time to blame it on lack of consumption. Besides, consumption does increase because of all the new babies born after the soldiers come home. That's why the Baby Boomers are called that, and why they start their generation in 1946, 9 months after WWII ended. It wasn't regulation that increased consumption, it was those births and all the factories could build all kinds of new things that they could not beforehand. After making fighter planes, what's so difficult in making a washing machine?

The Demon King probably has magic powers we haven't seen yet, and she has business knowledge. She has the qualities of both Spice and Wolf. So what's the hero, a trophy husband? Sits there and looks good? What does he know, other than fighting?

Timing is everything in comedy!

well, it all depends on how war is conducted. back then in the middle ages we didn't had wars like we have today. WWI changed the whole war paradigm forever, and those 11 years aren't really that long when you consider the whole scope of things back then. nowadays society moves much faster with globalization and such. back then, due to how fast communication was (you had telegraph and radio was booming, true, but it was still quite hard to make it bi-directional and fast), things moved slower.
thing is, if you heard her explaining things, they are plausible, and they do come in hand with wartime economics.

also, she might have magical powers but
