What I'm confused about  is why is the Hero surprised that the Demon World is underground

Didnt he already traveled there when he met Maou in the 1st episode

Yes doesn't make much sense, maybe because so far all the travel between the Demon and Human Realm has been through teleportation.

But then how does the merchant want to reach Gate City from bright Island ? through sailing ? They botched the geography of the show.

Are we certain that this world is spherical? It could be Discworld for all we know, right?

I like a little back story now and then. Hope that will be all for filler shows this season.

The whole first seasson was mostly filler, none of the plots are going to be solved in episode 12, they are pushing a Prometheus sequel bait on us. This anime sucks.

I think it's OK. The rate of change is pretty low though.

They called this last episode a "finale"? You cannot even call it an open ending ... it was such a mess, so rushed it was ridiculous. No idea what happened here.

If a 2nd season does not come out soon it is going to be one of the poorest directed show of anime modern times.

This show felt like Prometheus : here we have this great show and concept ... but we be prepared to buy tickets for the sequel to actually get it, suckers.

Yes there was a lot of characters and stories, but couldn't they introduce everything in the first 3 episodes ? Considering they still got a damn recap episode in this run ?

They really botched this, there are shows with more complicated universes and even strange ones who are introduced in fewer episodes, we barely got anything out of this season except a season 2 bait.

With so much text from the manga
this anime adaptation fails so bad

they could have extended it to 15 episodes at least

So this was the finale? So much wait for the next season.
It catched up to translated manga btw.

These needed to be 40 minute episodes or 24 episodes, that's true indeed.

Having read the manga I do feel that they rushed the start and especially the end of the show quite a bit. Here where every second counted those empty fanservice shots really hurt the show, I'm kinda angry at the producers for priorising them over plot and conversations.

Because we can!

The dumbest side of the fan service is that there wasn't enough of it to EVEN make the show interesting to the Echi crowd.

In a season with a show about Ninja Swimsuits, Senran Kagura, and girls asses in shorts, Vividred Operation, MMY fanservice was too little too late and  because the lame hero is too little. There was everything from Yuri, boob fondling, pantyshots, swimsuits, nudity and much more that MMY even trying to compete is silly. They are lucky Samurai Girls wasn't running this season because that show would have left no Ecchi sould living to even be interested in Maou big boobs.

For the story telling itself I didn't read the LN or manga, but a show with a Fish out of water character to whom the story is introduced in a ludic and funny way instead of using Yusha.

My anime! Mine!!!! Koshimizu Ami is awesome as always. I love her voice, reminds me Ami acting as Horo (of course she voiced Horo).

On episode 4. Stories like Maoyuu Maou Yuusha and Spice and Wolf are so rare to come by ...

What the heck, the last episode just glossed over the important details and just ends with a meal.
