iPhone 5 or the Galaxy Note 2?
« on: September 23, 2012, 02:13:12 PM »
Fanboyism is banned from this thread.

I've had the iphones and the galaxies, they all have their pros and cons the GS3 is the best screen I have ever looked at, nothing compares, but I hated the housing/design of it, the home button ruined it, the volume rocker was terrible.

I just don't know what to buy iphone 5 or GS note 2? What do you think and why?

I think you should go with the GN2. If we're ignoring the OS, which I'm assuming why you banned fanboyism from this thread, the build quality of Samsung's recent phone has been quite high. It plays 720p, which is a nice touch, it's screen is quite large, which has both pros and cons. I dislike how large it is, for carrying reasons, but for usage it would be nice. I think it depends on how you plan to use it.

GN2 has micro sd card expansion, which is a plus if you plan on putting quite a bit of stuff on it, and I've heard that browsing manga (I don't read it, or have a nice phone) is quite nice on the original note, so I'm assuming it will apply to it's big brother too. The processor is slightly faster, and the Android OS is more lightweight, depending on what you want to add to it.

Speaking of OS's, it's entirely opinion on which one is better, but because the GN2 is made by Samsung, and Google and Samsung are essentially sleeping together at this point, the updates for Android will roll out on this phone/tablet. So there you have it. My opinion, hopefully not shrouded in to much bias.

The iPhone 5 is aesthetically pleasing, and because it's made by Apple, it just works.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

No definitely, your response was what I was looking for, especially the manga side, I love manga and that's why I was sold to it, plus because I'm tall it goes well with me. The iphone 5 is pleasing, but until I hold and play around with it's screen I won't know, iPhone screen will either make or break my interests. I don't see much competing with the S3 screen.

Question: does you current cell phone works? If yes then why bother buying another one?

iPhone 5

GN2 will be running on Exynos, which is IMO a great mobile CPU, but most Exynos-based phones have a bunch of problems that occur after you root (incl. signal reception, bad compatbility with CM-based roms).

Question: Do you own a computer? Have you upgraded it? Why?

Same logic.

If you don't root your android then buy an iPhone.

if you want real answer to your logic 'less' question here it is.

samsung is running on quad core cpu-  there is no programs on the market which use 4 core cpu now , only 1% of progrems using dual core
the cpu over heat fast- from 60c and up- it even hard to hold in the hand from the heat.
the cpu drains the battery like no one else. 2 hours of gaming or video and your battery is dead.

iphone is running on dual core cpu (same as iphone 4s, they didn't changed it)
but the phone is new so there are many problems with it. i'll wait for iPhone 5 s .

but you have never said for what you need the phone.

Same logic.

My computer could no longer run relevant applications, thus upgraded. Logic justified.

The function of talking to other people over great distance is unchanged. For example I bought my first phone to communicate with people, I bought my second phone after the first one was lost. I bought my third one after the second one was damaged. Average life time about 5 years on each of them.

Smart phones aren't exactly phones per se, at least not anymore. Hell, if anything, I'd classify it as a small personal computer/assistant.

Hell, GN2 has a 5'5 screen with a 1,6ghz quadcore. Sorry, that is no longer a mobile cellphone. That's a small computer without a keyboard, that just happens to have the ability to call people.

I'm still using a Nokia 3310...

Lot's of people don't root.
To each their own I guess.

But there's so many advantages to rooting (along with mostly negligible disadvantages) that it's not really much of a debate.

To the vast majority of the worlds phone users, the word root means a part of a plant.

They pay $20 for a cellphone store to root the device for them and they call in unlocking it,
just like apple jail brake.

so yes people do aware of it  but still they fail to see the full potential of the unlocking.

Nope, unlocking and rooting mean two different things on Android.

rooting is removing any restrictions which the manufacturer  put in the phone .
as well as well as unlocking Admin rights.

how is it not unlocking it?

please tell me what is rooting and unlocking means in android.
