Saras:
I'm not a fan of the iPhones design for a different reason. Its a bit too rounded for my taste, it looks too feminine in my eyes if that makes any sense. I much prefer the Lumia 920 or the Xperia look. Even if it's very similar.
As for nails, phones with hypersensitive toutchscreens exist. You can use fingernails and gloves and the like on them. Oh right gogeta said that before me.

. . . trying to condense a full tablet into a phone is not useful. . .and an octa core? who needs that much computing power? I mean I dont need 1080p in a fucking 4.5" display. . .

few things,
1. Only 5% of the time people spent on their smartphone they use its for phone functions, the rest of the time people do things where a big screen is a benefit.
2. the octa core is actually two quad core, in the sense that only one of them will run at a time. One is for being to save battery(Cortex-A7), the other is used for task that take a lot of power like gaming(Cortex-A15).

after 280?(ish) ppi the human eye cannot detect a pixel at 12", which is why the retina display has that density. . .which is why the iphone 5 still has that retina display instead of the more advanced one that samsung/competitors released. . .

Your friend is very misinformed, read this. You shouldn't believe all marketing BS you see or hear.
No that isn't the reason why the iPhone still have that display, it is because a screen with higher PPI doesn't exist at the moment at a 4 inch size.

Nah, that's not it at all. The tl;dr is that kitamesume was getting all mad over me grouping phones with an iPhone-like design into a category and jokingly calling them iClones.

hah, its similarly how people call anyone black as (slang)niggers. pretty much what you're doing is racism really.
eitherway, if you hadn't posted such a stupid comment to begin with this wouldn't have happened at all, denial is futile.

i bumped the Raspberry Pi Media Player thread a while back about the octa core exynos, the extra four cores can co-work with the four muscle cores if needed.
its actually quite useful, seemingly current designs with the phantom 5th core works on the same principle minus co-working with the four main cores, it works well on light loads because you can physically shutdown all the power-hungry cores, and even get enough muscle during heavy loads on the go.

yes I can see that only 5% goes into the phone part and 95 into the smart part. . .
still, if I am going to be carrying around something that doesnt fit comfortably in my pocket I'd rather walk around with my iPad or any Tablet. IMO Smartphones are good for:
- Quick net searches (a bigger screen isnt necessary, pinch to zoom) (includes showing a viral video to a friend)
- Quick memos and stuff
- Playing angry birds or some "I-have-to-kill-15-minutes-before-class" games
- Oh, and make calls!
even though things 1-3 COULD be better in a bigger screen, I still stand behind my saying that a 1080p resolution isnt necessary, and these are supposed to be "quickies" and then go back to the pocket
- If you want to surf the web get a tablet or a laptop or a smart TV
- If you want to write a word/excel/ppt use a laptop or a PC or a tablet
- If you want to play good games get a console or a PC
Soon we'll have people using Adobe Premiere and aftereffects in their " 8 core 4.5 Ghz + 1 GB dedicated Nvidia GTX 880+ " 5.9" Samsung Galaxy S6 or something. . . and even though I'd be amazed at seeing a phone do that. . .I dont think its practical.
I guess my rant is about the definition of a smartphone. . .(I put more emphasis in the fact that its an advancement to cellphones not an advancement in tablets)
metro.:
We live in a world where practicality isn't the reason for development of most things.
Get used to it.
