I wouldn't say it is too intellectual, it is maybe too Japanese styled storytelling.

I hope you don't forget that we talk here about japanese animation for japanese people ;)

Once again, the only word that describes this is weird. It's finally going somewhere after the 3rd episode, but where is it actually going? I don't have a clue. I'm solely watching this for curiosities sake at this point.

I haven't watched the third episode yet, but I don't really understand why everyone's so confused about what's happening here. I mean I already have some hypotheses for what I believe has happened and is happening to their world, but either way those aren't necessary. Just watch what's going on in the show, know that there's something bigger at work, and know that you will probably know what it is in due time. It's not hard; it's not like you guys haven't watched Higurashi already, which is even worse than this in that regard.

I'm enjoying it. I especially like the ED (though it's a bit weird considering the show content lol...).

Cute, huh?

I'm curious, are these new creatures a very old traditional Japanese style, or did they steal from Ghibli?

The show makes more sense now than where ep. #2 left me. Although the "past" still leves me wondring who  good and who was evil.

It kind of pisses me off how low this is rated on anidb, compared to most recent shit.

Cute, huh?

People have low attention spans so anything that requires more than a couple of episodes to get going gets shafted.

Short attention spans, the need for instant gratification, either, or, both. This show builds, it doesn't just Give you everything al at once, see Mirgond's admonition to me above. lol Guessing they went for more women as their audience than men or boys.

So no one thinks they've seen the "library" in say Princess Mononoke?

I love the atmosphere of things not being right, without being blatant.  Looks promising that they won't force feed a set of morals later and let their viewers think for themselves.  My most anticipated series of this season...so far.

This anime is epic, it's about time we get a fantasy worth watching. Refreshing, and the fact that this reminds me of Noein even more now adds to the awesomeness.

So much for everything pulling together. What the hell was that? This series is all over the place. I'm still intrigued but damn! Start making sense already.

Episode 6.

So, from what I can understand, anyone is able to break the seal on the powers provided there is a mantra? Why didn't Saki let Satoru do the same process to her then?

From my understanding, which I can only assume is right, Satoru would need to know what hers is.  They show you that she knew what his was in the ep.  There would have been no reason to show us that she knew otherwise.

I kind of like the all over the place story telling this show is giving us.

It just dawned on me today that these monster rats are descendants of Naked Mole Rats, from Africa. Seems a lot of Africa has crept into Japanese future history in this show. Bonobos, Naked Mole Rats, what else???

This has still been a very interesting show to watch.

But I wonder what Saki will come up with as a solution.

I liked it up to this point but the story telling of episode 5 and 6 just confused me and the randomness of their "physical" interaction just seemed our of place and sudden to me

that "physical" interaction can relate to what the shiney horse thing said about the monkey things... i worded it like that so u could remember it...

Episode 8.

I used to think that once the scientists added "death feedback" to the human gene they abandoned the love society concept, guess they didn't. The only explanation I can think of regarding the really high amount of same sex pairings is: the scientists faction discovered whatever genetic/environmental factors that determine sexuality and made it so that all humans are bisexuals by default to help enforcing the love society.

What the hell just happened? Lesbians and homosexuals? I get that they are trying to make an environment similar to the monkeys, but why make everyone gay? Plus, what is up with the fluctuation of terrible animation? Some episodes are fine, others are so noticeably bad it kind of ruins the episode for me. Blegh.

I thought I was keeping up, but I don't know whats happening in ep 8.  This ep was kind of weak in all areas tho, hope next is better.
