This series is quite interesting to say the least. I really like the story, the animation, and there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. The ED is great too. This series is definitely going as my tippity-top favorite.

It's definitely very interesting. And it's so nice to see a unique setting like this for a change (even if it still hasn't quite managed to shake the Japanese high school theme that virtually every anime has to follow). It hasn't done an amazing job of communicating the plot so far though, hopefully things'll become a little clearer in future episodes.

And agreed on the ending - I love it.

Yup, this is definitely my top 2nd anime of 2012, after SAO of course.
It's amazing. The plot, the char development, little details, everything.
Actually I'm rooting for SakixSatoru couple. But well, we'll see about that.

So this latest episode.. Well now I see whom Shun was referring by "cats". I wonder if Saki will be alright. I mean really, why did she jump into danger like that, all alone?? She could have at least asked Satoru to come with her. He definitely would.. sigh

However many things are still a mystery about this society.. There's so much I want to know.. Hmmm.. maybe I'll rewatch 4th episode (it's the one where they are told the history etc etc.)

Sad I didnt like the art of the anime so I dropped it

Just read the 1st volume of the manga, so intense and creepy, I loved it ... has the potential of being a hidden gem after some time  due to the lack of hype

But Damn the series is so gay...  yuri, yaoi, and really, QUEERats

I could not stop laughing when I watched that scene. Is it just I who found that exchange to be hilarious?

Just caught up on this. Whoa. This is easily one of the most disturbing things I've ever watched. It creeps me out. The story is so intriguing though! The next episode is going to be fantastic.

What can I say..
Shit's gotten real!
This is seriously one of the most unique and really interesting anime I've seen. I mean this is the kind of anime that makes you think and reflect about what is really a "good" anime and what is crap.

AMAZING.

The "homosexuality" isn't really what we would think of as homosexuality in society, though.  It's more like the kids are being brainwashed to dissipate all of their stress and anxiety through sexual hormones, as is pretty obviously explained earlier.

this thread got so little repply
well, I cant grasp the complete idea until now
but one conclusion I have from the latest episods for now
children from group 1 is prepared to become a companion of future village leader
that's because they treated differently from another group, so I think that support my conclusion

just one thing I dont know
just why that guy must be eliminated?
I dont see for real the reason behind to eliminate him

People are eliminated when they are deemed to be socially unable to integrate.  People who can't control their subconscious emotions.

So, they wanted to kill the dude because he was starting to lose control.  It's basically trying to weed out the people who  become deviant psychologically

well
looks like cruel to me
it's just shown as a little deviation
it is something that can be fixed I believe

Getting better..
Yeah very soon I might change my best anime 2012 from SAO to SSY.

About last episode I can say that it was pretty tense and I didn't feel how those 20 minutes passed =_=
Other.. I want to see Saki as the head of their village. Also I want to here some more stories from Satoru's grandma. She is like awesome :D
And hell that woman looks like 30 not some 60-70 =_=

Well yeah, that's pretty much the perspective of the main character.

The perspective of the people who rule the society is that even a small accident can completely wipe out all of human civilization left, so I mean, that's pretty much what the whole story's about?

We get the first op 16 eps in and it shows us more in it then some eps.  I still love the way the story telling is done, just thought this was kinda funny.

I doubt that is an OP, imo, it's just a song to accompany the reminiscence of Saki and Maria's past.

AMAZING.

I agree, they have "gay sex" at such a young age because otherwise the girls would get pregnant, eh? That would interrupt their studies & such. No sign of a "birth control spell" lolz!

And yes, they're "socially engineered" (culturally brainwashed, or directly, or both!) to "swing like that". Of course later they'll become heterosexual and non-promiscuous...

Naked mole rats are the 2nd most grotesque creatures on Earth.
Bonobo monkies are THE WORST! Ick!

So for a show with the two YUCKIEST critters on the planet, and not a catgirl in sight? I'm still liking it (finished ep.7)...

Ep.8 Starts with yaoi... (grits teeth)

Did I mention I really dislike freaking Bonobos? Icky!
