low end eyefinity to 1 good 27" suggestions

(1/3) > >>

keviny1:
so i currently have a eyefiinity set up, with 3 just alright, kind of low to mid range monitors. i was thinking about selling two and just get 1 good 27" monitor and just have 2 screens. one for gaming, browsing, anime etc (27") and have one of my older ones as a secondary for skype, irc and what not.

Problem is though i have no idea what would be a better option for me as im not up to date with current screen standards. i kind of want to keep it within a reasonable price range, which for me would be around 299 depending on how much i get for the 2 monitors.

was looking at waiting for something like http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236103 or similarto go on sale. Im all ears for any suggestions

kitamesume:
skip getting a 27", it would cost you over 500$ each for gaming grade monitors imho.

edit: although it all depends on native resolution, do note that 1080p on a 27" is blurry as hell =(

keviny1:
actually now that i think about it a 27" at native resolution of 1920x1080 would be more stretched out then a 23" at the same resolution, if that it how it works anyway. so for it to be worth my time for a 27" i would need a greater native resolution? and so far any 27" with greater resolutions are 500 plus like you said.

would 1920x1080 in a 27", really be that blurry compared to a 23 or 24?

failboat:
As silly as it may sound, there is a pretty significant difference between 1080 and 1200.

And if you expect to get a high quality monitor with a refresh rate high enough for some less discrete gaming, then don't keep your hopes up as you'll be shelling out quite a bit.

I don't see why you'd want anything bigger than 24" for just playing games on, and there are plenty of nice and cheap monitors with good enough refresh rates at that size.

If you play games from far away, get a nifty TV and use that. Only reason for a 27" IPS would be for either work purposes or to spend money for the heck of it.

keviny1:
looking at the prices of 24" compared to 27" its a pretty big jump for the sake of 3". so what would be something that i should be looking for in a monitor to give me the quality for my dollar? like would response time make a better monitor over better contrast ratio?
just looking for something to give me a nice quality picture.
