would 1920x1080 in a 27", really be that blurry compared to a 23 or 24?

yes, its really ugly =( although tolerable if you sit like 2meters away. to be honest though 24" is already too big if you're sitting any less than 1meter away, the corners of the screen would be outside of your optimal viewing angle.
gaming grade monitors doesn't just aim for response time and refresh rate, theres also the input latency.
if you'd ask me try looking up DELL ultrasharp 23" U2312HM, they go for around 260$. it boasts the lowest input latency while maintaining picture quality, response time is above average although slightly inferior to true gaming monitors.

edit: also to note, the ratios of size to native resolution goes by this to maintain picture crisp.
21.5" = 1920x1080
24" = 1920x1200
27" = 2560x1440
30" = 2560x1600
edit2: ah and animes hates 1920x1200 and 2560x1600, simply put when you stray from the native resolution they get scaled, whenever theres scalings it'll end up losing quality. theres a few exceptions like the 2560x1440 though, its a perfect multiple of 2 of 720p, resulting in a perfect scaled image.
also to note, your graphics card should decide weather to go big or not, if your GPU can handle games at the monitor's native resolution then go with that, otherwise you're just wasting the monitor's potential.
i mean, like playing 720p on a 27" inch screen... even with a 21.5" its horrible enough... omg, the blurr, toss it away!

for 260 you say? i might be looking at the wrong places but i cant seem to find one that ships to Canada for under 500.

computer valley seems to have them at 275 CAD$ http://www.computervalley.ca/super-template/information-technology/computer-displays/monitors/dell-ultrasharp-u2312hm-widescree-flat-panel-monitor-23

ever order from here before? just wondering what they are like. i usually just use newegg, ncix and amazon because i trust them.
kitamesume:
computer valley is available locally here, so i could check the unit it self, pick it up if its good, and be happy with it.
try it if you have it locally?
