720p or 1080p?

It should match something more like
- larger resolution for when graphics supports larger resolutions
- smaller resolution for smaller resolution devices

Still bad, you are dismissing the two to three times larger size. It's like Ferrari which has ... Nah, not going there. I think the difference between 720p and 1080p is pretty clear at this point, even without dressing it up as a car.

Why make an issue of it? Just watch 720 and 1080 on the equipment you normally use and decide if it's worth it...

If you don't have any kind of download cap and an excellent connection speed then consider the following.
Download 1 episode of 1080p and 720p each... preferably the smallest one to make it quick.
Take the same screenshot from both of them. Upscale 720p to 1080p and compare. If you any quality gain download the remaining episode of 1080p. If not then download the remaining episode of 720p.
Important Point:-
If only Tenshi is doing a show don't bother to do the comparisons. Just download the 720p version. You don't want 77GB for a 26 episode show. =_=
