720p or 1080p?

<< < (8/10) > >>

Freedom Kira:
My policy on BBT is to get all movies in highest available definition and all anime at a max of 720p. I've always felt that 720p looks "good enough" and the small quality jump going to 1080p doesn't justify the extra space required. Movies are on a different level though - usually there's more going into a movie than an anime episode, and I feel that justifies the extra size. A movie is not going to be anywhere near the size of a full series, either, assuming same encode settings.

Do you have an example of a show that was only ever released in 720p that has a 1080p upscale version on BBT? I'm certain that upscales are not allowed on BBT, period, but I'm not sure what the newer moderators have allowed through lately.

a few of the other series didn't have native 1080p, i forgot which but when i was lurking in the "offered" page i've read a few arguments about if its good enough, a few of them passed.

^ What kind of arguments :D?

kitamesume:
about upscales being good enough with proofs, i guess when some of the series doesn't have a chance of getting 1080p those upscales would get accepted oneway or the other if its really that good.

Slysoft:
Considering the price of a 2tb caviar black (179.99) you are at less than 10 cents a gigabyte so size doesn't really matter anymore unless you are unemployed
