I just recently finished watching all the ova's , gotta admit it was a cut above ur average slash and kill , gore animes (but not elfen lied - a discussion for another day). But the thing that was not at all clear was past of characters. A usual anime follows up with flashbacks that tells us how the character ended up being psychotic ,mature or a serial killer. but this series seriously lacked such element.
apart from occasional flashbacks tits and bits there wasn't much about anderson or alucard. though seras' past was shown in a very graphic manner, only her's felt as complete character builder.
