Hellsing Ultimate : Any proper explaination of character's past

I just recently finished watching all the ova's , gotta admit it was a cut above ur average slash and kill , gore animes (but not elfen lied - a discussion for another day). But the thing that was not at all clear was past of characters. A usual anime follows up with flashbacks that tells us how the character ended up being psychotic ,mature or a serial killer. but this series seriously lacked such element.
apart from occasional flashbacks tits and bits there wasn't much about anderson or alucard. though seras' past was shown in a very graphic manner, only her's felt as complete character builder.
anyone who might have looked into this matter p.s. post ur views or results ;)

well there's still one episode that hasn't been released yet.

Considering there's only 10 episodes planned for the OVA, I'd rather have them spend their time on badass action scenes rather than boring flashbacks.

Potentially there could be endless flashbacks if it's Alucard.
I rather have the OVAs keep showing him kicking ass.
