Some pointers about seeding?

(1/2) > >>

NawtSauce:
Hey hey, well I've downloaded some anime here and I tried to seed, but when I resumed it to seed, the download bar turned red.
Also, how long do you guys normally seed something?

Thanks!

megido-rev.M:
As some members mentioned here (feel free to browse recent posts BTW), just keep seeding as much as you can. You might also download a few freeleech torrents and seed those to bump your ratio if necessary.

There's a thread concerning red download bar somewhere here too.

Freedom Kira:
Figure out how to get to the tracker status message in your client.

Without that, no one can really help.

Bozobub:
Many of us seed torrents nearly forever.  The more torrents you seed, the more likely it is that you'll use more of your upload bandwidth, it's that simple.  Even if you don't keep them indefinitely, keeping at least 20-50 torrents in "forced seeding" status" will help a great deal.

As Kira mentions, we really can't help with the problem you're having (red download bar generally = error), until you tell us what the tracker status message is.  For most GUI clients, you simply right-click the category bar at the top of your torrent queue and make sure "Tracker Status" (or something similar) is checked.
