seeding

Dhruv:
But force start isn't much of a help if there are no leechers. If a torrent is a bonus torrent without any leechers... force start is useful for seeding it and accumulating bonus points.

megido-rev.M:
It depends on how the client implements the feature.
As far as torrents in the queue go, generally idle ones seem to get treated differently from seeding ones.

ConsiderPhlebas:
And, at least in Azureus/Vuze, concerning how you configure things related to number of torrents allowed to run simultaneously, etc., if you want to maximize UL and avoid going "Forced", you have to be pretty careful in configuring how you handle torrents with a certain number of seeds/leeches, etc.

If your aim is to improve quota, or just serve as many torrents as possible, I recommend setting them to forced and set the number of allowed connections totally and per torrent to something reasonable to your network connection quality and speed. Otherwise the client will shut many of them down when it have started to serve a certain number, regardless of scrape results.

Bozobub:
Many props to the community for the attempt, but this seems to be an awful lot of effort for a low probability of return.  I know it seems harsh, but maybe we just need to stop responding to people like this.  FFS, why make an account on a public tracker and then abuse it, when you could just do the same without an account, and never feel any repercussions?

I know, many of us try to help, and not *all* are so bad, but damn...
