That was already on before I went into the settings and it didn't change a thing. Other than that, I couldn't find anything about messing with settings in MPC, just three posts about "download CCCP if you haven't already". So I gave into that, and here we are. I haven't noticed any differences between CCCP or K-Lite yet, possibly because I watch almost nothing newer than 2005 and therefore don't need much beef from my player or codecs, so whatever. It works, I'm happy, I'll just not download anymore Blu-Ray/super duper hi-def videos after that last mess (higher than DVD quality has never done much for me anyway), problems are solved, now back to my cheesy shoujo goodness.

I think I did find what you're talking about, though, Krudda - options, output, check off Haali Renderer (it was at EVR Custom Pres. when I looked just now)? - so I'll leave it as it is now because it's working fine, but if something else goofs up, I'll keep that in mind.

Ooh, no, don't use the Haali renderer. Either set the output to EVR Custom Pres. or MadVR (if you have it).

I think what Krudda was referring to was that you need to disable MPC's internal Matroska filter, which means it should use Haali by itself instead without you having to set anything. But if you installed CCCP, that will all be configured for you, so don't worry about it.

IrkSplee:
Yeah, glad I didn't touch anything. I just left it at EVR Custom Pres. This is why I don't like messing with video settings - I don't fully understand what all of the terms mean (I've tried, but it all refuses to stick) and it seems like everyone has a setup they're extremely attached to, so no matter what I go with, I'll be doing it "wrong". I can follow directions if something breaks, I know when a video isn't being choppy and horrible, and that's all I need, I suppose.

One minor benefit I did notice with CCCP, though - when I had K-Lite, the karaoke effects on the Tokyo Mew Mew songs were messed up, leaving all the song lines half one color and half another. I just chalked that up to subber incompetence, but once I installed CCCP, the karaoke worked properly. Karaoke does nothing for me, so I can't say it's really a BONUS, but it's something that worked in CCCP but broke in K-Lite. So, yay for that, I guess? Ah, whatever. This setup works, the videos play, they look and sound fine, the subs are readable, I'm all right with this. Unless I come across a video that glitches up again, I'm not touching the settings anymore.

You should still take note of the current settings in case shit happens.

IrkSplee:
Which I do. I know what it looks like now to give me the results I want, and that's all I need, really. Even if most of what I know boils down to "it's just the defaults. It wasn't broke so I didn't fix it".

Mistgun_Zero:
On another note, opening/closing credits do make a important part of anime. And many do consider it. Hell there are even awards for best opening/ending sequences for it.
