The difference between a public and a private tracker is that everyone needs an account to access the private tracker, and you often need to be invited by an existing member.

There is no difference in the speed between a public and private torrent on BBT.

Thank you.
Edit: I wrote these in private messages, but I feel they're important enough for people to read and learn something.

If everyone stopped paying for the software, the person developing it would not be able to continue working on it and we'd be stuck with a deprecated version. The developer still keeps the trial version available for our use, because he believes everyone won't exploit his good intentions.
You may not have any interest in your statistics, but you probably do care about still being able to download. Had you downloaded everything you downloaded by exploiting BBT:s system rightfully, you'd have been warned long ago (your ratio would 0.004). This is not because we have anything against you, but because we want BBT to remain a high quality tracker.
There may not be any specific rule against this at the moment, but if more people choose to exploit it, BBT may need one for its own survival's sake.

--- Quote from: buchno on November 19, 2012, 05:29:49 PM ---That is why the requirement of the ratio is not 1.0, but along the lines of 0.1. If people can't adhere to that limit either, they've solved it by getting a seedbox, buying a better connection or simply not to download as much. I understand your concern, but BBT is not a charity and never will be.
You have never been forced by anyone to exploit BBT:s good will. That was a choice made by you.
If you by any reason will not improve your connection, and still want to download the same amount you do today, the easiest and best solution for everyone would be for you not to use your tracker account at all, and switch back to downloading publicly. BakaBT is a public tracker after all.

--- Quote from: Oro o_o on November 19, 2012, 04:41:59 PM ---I've shifted to the private tracker only because they do not expire so I can continue to seed without monitoring each and every of my torrents (presently seeding 28 torrents for bakabt, 1 active)

Do you know that you can update tracker address in all of them simultaneously?

How O.O ? The only thing I noticed about the public URL that it has the current month mentioned as part of the url. That's all.
Al_Sleeper:
1. Download 1 (public) torrent file.
2. Copy (public) tracker address from it.
3. Select all torrents you want to update, right click on them, and select "Properties".
4. Paste the new (public) tracker address over the old one.
5. Click "OK".

:o ok ok l knew that BBT don't really needs more seeding. just don't start a fight :police:
