How to rip Anime DVD?

(1/5) > >>

Tiffanys:
Anyone have any good tutorials on how to rip an Anime DVD specifically? I found a basic ripping guide here.

I suppose the main things would be knowing which episode I'm ripping, properly setting up & naming the audio/sub channels, and the encode settings.

Freedom Kira:
Handbrake is simple enough to use without a guide. I'm sure you can play around with it and figure it out.

Just note that Handbrake can't decrypt DVDs, so you'll likely need DVD Decrypter if you're ripping a commercial anime DVD.

And another note, DVDs are split into tracks, and each episode should be split into its own track. If you're not so lucky, all the episodes might be in one track and split by chapters. In any case, after adding the ripped DVD, Handbrake will populate the drop-down list of tracks (see the image under step 4 in the guide you linked). Select the track you want and the chapters you want, using the preview window to see what you're choosing.

Tiffanys:
That's the point, I don't wanna do a lot of playing around... this stuff takes a long time to encode. @_@

Freedom Kira:
A single episode shouldn't take too long. Unless you're running on >10 years old hardware?

Tiffanys:
Right, so you're going to be zero help. Lovely, thanks. This is the reason that I post threads asking for help, to not be helped.
