why everyone doesn't use foobar2000 i'll never know
Because the set up is annoying.
Unless you just steal someone else's, then it's not as much work.

And if iTunes starts playing FLACs, I'll consider switching back.
yea im to lazy for making foobar look pretty so i use mediamonkey. Winamp loves to crash when it refreshes my 100 gig 18k song library
Is it wrong to use someone else's setup? Should everyone reinvent the wheel...?
People upload them to DeviantArt for a reason.

I'm pretty sure people who use Apple products computers aren't people who download anime, but I may be wrong...

Me  :'(. Only thing I don't use it for is watching/storing/sorting what I've downloaded

I haven't downloaded it yet until I get around to finding out if I need to update/wait for an update from last.fm. So.. probably like 2-6 months from now I'll update it  :-\

It's been good so far but they kinda overdid it with the minimalism and "slickness" of the new UI.

The tabs on the top were indeed clunky but you can't even access the equalizer without turning them back on in the settings.

iTunes 11 runs very smoothly for me on Mountain Lion, a clear improvement over 10. The coolest part of the release to me is the new album view which takes its colors from the album art itself. Makes it feel like you're opening a CD jewel case.

I kinda like it. The new album view is quite good and I like the eye-candy of the whole UI. Still no support for FLAC though (65-70% of my music is in FLAC and cba to convert it). Also nice that it faster than before.

Still use foobar2000, loads within microseconds and works perfectly. Well, I am sure itunes11 skin for foobar is gonna come up, so I will probably be using that and have the best of both worlds.

What I like:
- the "Up Next"-Feature is quite fancy, I like the thought on making a quick playlist that gets deleted once it's finished
-performance is better: the app loads more quickly, the database is available faster and it hasn't crashed on me yet
-the bug where iTunes crashed because of a "problem with the iTunes Audio Scrobbler" has apparently disappeared

What I don't like:
-there's too much iOS in there. I'm a classic mouse/keyboard user and the UI at times feels like it was made for use with the iPad/iPod touch/iPhone in mind, which I can somewhat cope with, yet I feel it should have been geared more towards non-touch interfaces
-I miss the bar on the left side. Doing drag & drop when making playlists was something I really cherished about iTunes 9 and 10

All in all, I think iTunes 11 is pretty neat, but the UI was too much of a break with the formerly employed UI concepts.

I use Winamp. I've used it ever since '98 or so... I don't like change, and well... it uses very little resources and does exactly what I want it to.

I had a similar situation. Then I decided to use foobar instead and made it look like Winamp, except better in layout.

haha, had this problem with WMP as well, it kept scanning my storage for more MP3s outside of my playlist and its making it hang XD talking about over 20K music files as well.

Weird. I always used to use Winamp, but had to stop (a few years ago now) because it was just far too bloated. It was slowing everything down. After that I drifted between players for a while, tried out Foobar2K etc, and eventually settled on Clementine, which is lightweight enough for my needs (and I love the library management).

I think I settled on Foobar because it could handle large amounts of music and let me set it the way I liked it and not change it.

And it's icon is an Alien.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

I don't like iTunes because they like to rewrite your filename with wrong encoder when you change your environment on windows. And they're decision tol never ever support flac file due to DRM.

Using iTunes on mac. Using Rhythmbox on linux. And using iTunes on windows. Despite how I loath Apple for their business strategy, in the end they still got me 2 to 1. I think I'm gonna take a look on Foobar.

Foobar is nice, the whole fact it plays FLAC is honestly the selling feature for me. You can customize it for eternity, but I just took my roommates set up, and went with it.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

I wanted to vote "The previous version has sleeker, tasteful look"... Oh, well.
How I miss both the UI and the dark blue colour especially...

I don't like iTunes at all. for music I use Windows Move Player. If you have your music organized Windows player works fine.
