Your Thoughts on iTunes 11

So Apple just came out with a new, overdue installation of iTunes which for some reason I am really happy about. I was so happy I didn't even read the ToS, which may lead to me being abducted by Apple for no apparent reason in the near future.

More importantly, iTunes 11 is noticeably faster and sleeker than the previous version, and navigating is somewhat different than before, but relatively the same. The most noticeable downside is the ugly icon which is just unappealing in every way.

Other than that nothing else is worth mentioning. So the main point is that its FAST, which is definitely what always drove me away from using that application. As for the iTunes store, I rarely use it besides podcasts, so I can't really provide an opinion of how its improved or changed.

So how do feel about this new version? Do any of you guys even use iTunes, or do you prefer other music apps?

I do so I can sync music to my iPod.

Never use it to listen to music while I'm at my comp though.

you can use just about any good  media player to do this, media monkey, fubar(i believe), winamp, etc

The sole purpose of iTunes for me is mainly so I can easily get my podcasts subscriptions and music on my ipod. I also don't mind the genius mixes they have.
But they finally optimized it and made it look less ugly.

The last time I used iTunes was around when they started trying to sneak Safari onto your machine through their updater. Can't say it endeared me to Apple. I don't miss Quicktime in the slightest. It has some decent features, but there are plenty of lighter weight alternatives with more robust feature sets.

Ok, I came to my concusion based on the assumption that:
people who buy Apple computers = people who have lots of money to spend = people who actually buy anime and don't download it

I always thought it was people that buy apple computers = people who think\act like they have money to spend.

Because the set up is annoying.
Unless you just steal someone else's, then it's not as much work.

And if iTunes starts playing FLACs, I'll consider switching back.

My friend once installed iTunes when I wasn't looking so he could plug in his iPod and copy across some of my music. Even after uninstalling it, I still occasionally get a popup telling me to update quicktime, safari and iTunes. No shit there's a new version available, I don't have ANY version installed. I've manually removed viruses more easily.

eh, on a new install it takes about 2 minutes to install columns UI and it's good to go

yea im to lazy for making foobar look pretty so i use mediamonkey. Winamp loves to crash when it refreshes my 100 gig 18k song library

On Windows, iTunes for iPod/iPhone stuff, foobar for everything else.
On Mac, iTunes for everything works fine.

Because the set up is annoying.

What is there to set up with foobar? Don't you just drag the music into the main app and save the playlist somewhere?

I like my music player to look nice and actually be useable.
