I think Eren's father was part of a team who was either researching the titans, and found something out, or was part of a group who had previous knowledge of the titans, much like the church of the walls people. If that is true, then I believe that the basement holds the secrets to "what" exactly the titans are, and how they were created. After all, Eren wouldn't have been a titan if his father didn't inject him with some weird medicine. I have a feeling Annie had the same done to her by her father, but for a different reason. What I think is that Eren was originally supposed to go through the same or similar circumstances as Annie, but his father didn't want that for him so he erased his memory of what happened that day.

My theory is that there are people outside the walls who, for some reason, have a bone to pick with the people inside the walls. They know how to use their titan powers, (or have always been titans, and have found out to how to transform into humans) and so they are using it to try to destroy the walls. It must be a good enough reason to mass murder hundreds of thousands of people; maybe the people in the walls are the ones who created the titans and the walls, and used that in order to force a dictatorship in which no one can disobey, because then they'd have ultimate power and wealth. It's all speculation, and there are a lot of contradictions, but it's impossible to tell anything for sure at this point.

the King and his supporters. There are a bunch of his supporters. Another thing is I think Mikasa will end up becoming one of the Titans somewhere along the story to get the hype up. There is still that gap for Eren to yearn for Mikasa so eventually it will happen. So far Jean does a hell of a job on Chapter 49. His personality and savage change in behavior in episode 16 spiked my interest in him. There's also Krista and her family issues (who was the father, mother, the family, siblings?) Wonder if the author will cover that. Ymir's mention in that ... special chapter in the manga. If you recall in the anime, that geek girl that loves the titans wanted to discuss the issue with Eren (it is also in the manga) but never gets the chance to speak about it. She discovered her notes. Man there's just a fuck ton of things. will 9 more volumes give us all the answers? Gah ...

 If they come from outside of the wall it make sense that they had to destroy the walls to get in, and why they recognize the "monkey", so yes this is pretty much an accepted truth by now in the manga

yimir explain she stole the power, so they must have started human, and both Reiner and Bernthold was human when yimir attacked them. As bonus information we also learned that you can loose one self for a long time when starting out to use titan form, and that the human-titan power has existed for over 65 years.

the reason why those three where sent in, was to find the "coordinator" and bring him or her back home. We don't know who it is, but the three believe it to be Eren and Reiner think it might actually be Krista. I believe that it could turn out to be Mikasa they need to capture, build from the fact that we still don't know the full meaning of her clan, but at the moment it is still far to soon to draw that conclusion :-)

I was actually kind of disappointed by this series. The first few episodes were amazing, but it kind of went downhill a bit after that. Don't get me wrong, it was a really good show, but it certainly didn't live up to the ridiculous amount of hype it's generated.

The action scenes were epic, and really well done, but the plot was dragged out far too long, with far too many repeated scenes and too much filler - they could probably have fitted the story in not much more than half the episodes if they'd wanted. It was kind of annoying how nearly every episode ended on a cliffhanger, as well.

It was very, very good though.

I really hate it when a manga gets turned in an anime before it's finished.Not only you don't have a conclusion in the anime but often they just make the manga longer and longer for more money.

The anime is...nice.Though it doesn't really live up to it's hype.I've said it at episode 1 and I'll say it again: The pacing is killing the enjoyment.I wish those were it's only flaws but they're not.

The combat animations were lacking as well.There were some good fights but most of the time you have: talking, someone uses 3d maneuvers to move around, talking, talking, someone uses 3d maneuvers to around but from an different angle, talking, talking, talking, hey look it's a titan let's talk about it half of the episode....talking, finally some attacks with 3d maneuvers....cliffh anger.

I think I've watched the anime with the mouse over the skip forward for the last 20 episodes because I learned I really am not skipping over anything important even if it's a 5 minute skip for 10-15 secs of anime.

Hajime Isayama have already announced that it will be complete in 20 vol, which fits quite well with its current pace, and it will manage to wrap it all up in time.

It is angst, of course there will be spend time on them trembling in fear when seeing something that sorrowful, together with the fact that they are spreading out small hint to what is going on, and foreshadowing of what to come. Add together with fact that they need to use some time to create depth to characters so we at least care whatever or not they die.

The poorest criticism I've read yet. My co-worker had better criticism and he acknowledge the fact that the brand new squads had 0 experience with fighting and were between the ages of 15 to 17 (through the beginning of the anime). But I'll give you an advice.

Stop wasting your time and our time and go do something more valuable with yours. If you ought to not like SnK then might as well just let it all drop. Skipping almost any part in SnK will hurt proper build up and knowledge on understanding the flow of the series. Maybe the series in question is not for you but rather for the majority of others.

Erm... Not sure the reason for the hate for someone commenting something that isn't a glowing review.

I thought the start of the series was great, but after that it as extremely plodding and didn't get nearly as far as I would expect from a 25 episode run. I don't think the show ended up bad, just that it started at amazing and then dropped off to average/ok.
