My co-worker had better criticism and he acknowledge the fact that the brand new squads had 0 experience with fighting and were between the ages of 15 to 17 (through the beginning of the anime). But I'll give you an advice.

Stop wasting your time and our time and go do something more valuable with yours. If you ought to not like SnK then might as well just let it all drop. Skipping almost any part in SnK will hurt proper build up and knowledge on understanding the flow of the series. Maybe the series in question is not for you but rather for the majority of others.

Poorest criticism I've read yet.My hamster had better criticism and he just barks all day in aramaic.
We've learned to look over the fact that when the world is about to end we entrust it's future to a 10-16 year old. It's anime.

My advice is stop wasting your time with insults trying to criticise other peoples posts without actually saying anything.
I know you're new to these things called forums but please try to learn.Look at mrdkreka or Nodame-chan.They at least say something.
I'm horrible at grammar and spacing.Go for those if you really want to make of fun of my opinions when you don't agree with them.

I do not hate the anime.I said it's fine, nice even but it doesn't deserve the hype. It's not the Alpha and Omega of anime. The story while great is not mind blowing with originality or mystery. If you take a look from a "higher" angle or brake the story in it's base components you'll see it's actually derivative.A closed off society, monster outside town limits, enemy amongst us, young protagonist with "unknown" power, etc.The pattern in which all of these are arranged isn't original either.

Don't think it's angst, it's despair. They are not saying "omg,if we lose we're fked".They are saying "we're fked and now we're doing this to get unfked".
It doesn't seem like much of difference but it is.I can't explain it properly but I'll try.
With angst you hope your characters won't die. With despair you know they will and now you're just watching the slaughter and get surprised when a few manage to survive.Problem is you've already given up hope and given up on the characters.

I can name many and we both know it.
I'm not skipping through because I don't like words and just want to see punching.I'm skipped through because they talk so damn slow. They are talking alot without actually saying anything of importance.
Character development? Where the hell is that? Episode 1 characters are the same as episode 25 characters.Only development I can think of is that guy that decided to go with the scouts instead of guards and that was a decision based on experience and not a change of character.
Maybe I'm not seeing the subtle changes.I'll admit that I didn't care enough to analyze their interactions.Name the changes they experience.

And now it's a wall of text....
Still there's too little wall crawling for a Spidermen anime.

Insults? I stopped reading right after that. Mimishiki19, you literally suck comprehending things. <- This is my first insult to you since you have such weak layers of skin.

You are a waste of breath.

@mrdkreka
(click to show/hide)I read the manga and I've got no idea what you're talking about.
I think I didn't properly explain.
The story of Attack on Titan I've read before. It was a town that was surrounded and (further in the story)frequently attacked by "evil" forces. The  protagonist was one of those devils/monsters/beasts but he didn't know it.The time period was the same( culture and technology). The people lived in that town for generations, not knowing who was attacking or why they were being attacked.
This story^ grates me because I know it's based on something else though I have no idea if it's a legend, myth, a Grimm Brother's story or what but I know it's deeply rooted in our culture as I've seen a few movies and read a few stories with the same premise.

Despair/angst thing. You can use angst many times but despair a maximum of 2.After that the subject is stale. It's not about category but storytelling.

Did you read every single line?

School Rumble.Comedy.You watch it not for the story but for the gags.Top of my head since I've seen a thread about it when I got here. Many more.
Opposite side The Pet Girl of Sakurasou since I've watched it recently. You see episodes 1, 2, 3 and skip to 24.Why so much skipping? No progress storywise between those! 4-23 are just filler episodes.Remember naruto, bleach fillers? It's what the conversations in Attack of the Titan feel like to me.
I did not skip every conversation. Some were interesting and necessary. Most were not.

Yes Armin.I did say I didn't pay too much attention.Did he end up doing anything besides plans? He was the planning guy from the start.
You probably are right.

While it might be possible to make the gear would it be usable in any way? Why doesn't it exist now? I imagine mountain climbers and/or thrill seekers would use it.
What mechanism would they use to attach the wires to walls? How do they detach? How do you control the swing?
Not being a troll here.I'm actually pretty interested.
@takeshi
(click to show/hide)Think it's a bigger fuck you to watch it for free than skipping a few scenes.
If I don't make the cake there's no point in eating it?

Titan attack!Everyone runs, dies and dies some more. It's chaotic, fast paced and btw let me tell about my feelings while we're having a few flashbacks.

I don't get how you can criticize a series you just skipped through. The majority of the things you are saying don't make any sense, probably because you haven't watched the anime all the way through. Every little bit of "filler" in SnK is relevant to the story. I agree they probably could have made things a little bit faster paced, but just because it's not super fast paced doesn't mean it's bad, nor does that mean you should skip through the slower paced scenes then proceed to criticize the series for not making sense or being bad because you missed out on some of the most important information to the story.

Think of yourself as an expert critic for a movie. If you are going to criticize the movie and say in your review that you "skipped through" the boring scenes, everyone who has seen the movie and enjoyed it will obviously think you are a retard. It only makes sense, because to be able to properly critique you need to be seeing the whole picture, not just half of it.

Mimishiki19:
I wonder why everyone insists I hate the anime or that I somehow skipped entire episodes.
"OMG,she skipped the flashback from episode 5 that was about something that happened in episode 2! OFF WITH HER HEAD!"

Also you are not allowed to say this anime is any good since it isn't finished and therefore you haven't watched it in it's entirety .

Wow you really gonna act like a dick, fine, then I have zero interest in continuing this so called discussion.

To take the high ground, I will explain it very briefly.
- It wont have much use, just like normal progression in technology it happens when humans gets desperate like in war and they need a solution that might be a bit messy.
- Why would anyone make this? It is extremely dangerous to use, and require years of training to use somewhat safely.
- remember they can't use it for a very long time since it use a lot of gas, the anime/manga doesn't mention how long on tank last, but I doubt it will be enough for mounting climbing. Then are also the problem with temperature, and the fact that you will need a lot of modification for it to be usable in the cold of the mountain. Short answer it would be terrible for mounting climbing.
- there exist quite a few ways to do this, you can do a google search and find quite a lot of different ways it can be done, however this is probably the biggest challenge for making it in IRL.
- same as above, and depends on the attach mechanism.
- This is mention in the anime, but to sum it up, it is the way you move your body and your position you are in. If I had to make it I would make some difference using more modern technology, since this is also one of the reason it has so hard to use.
