SnK blu-rays are different from the TV version - dark almost not transparent shadows and some titans are completely redrawn.
Overall you should check what you prefer before watching the blu-ray or the TV version.
Coalgirls - evetaku script (restyled, removed karaoke effects)
FFF - gg modified script (not sure what they modified, but considering how they added the german part of the op only when it was stand alone and ignored it when it was merged with the Japanese lines, I don't think that there is a big improvement)

Visually FFF is much better than CG and usually they fix most errors for their batches, so I guess if you want blu-ray quality, it will be safe to wait FFF's batch.

gg's are, in a lot of cases, trolls. When the scene gets hyped up or over the top, they'll add their twisted "funny" and "incorrect" translation to spice the subtitles up. In some anime, that's alright but in others it's not alright.

Lag-Taku (was it?) have the best choices of subs.

For anyone's reference I watched the '[HorribleSubs]' release which is in 1080p. Quality is insanely good. Subtitles are clear and clean and incredibly easy to read. None of that fluffy sort of text.
As for me, no idea how accurate their subs are. I remember hearing rumours on the wind about almost all of the release teams about how some steal others' episodes and some don't subtitle correctly and yeah also about how others change certain words for comical effect etc. One such example I can remember is when a 'certain team' subtitled one small part in Elfen Lied deliberately incorrectly. The sentence went from "Come out with your hands up!" to "Come out with your pants down!" - When I noticed it, it was funny and I didn't care. At the end of the ep the release team explained the error was deliberate.

If ejaculating while watching Attack on Titan is considered wrong, I don’t want to be right

Another season, another pile of shit. As delusional anime critics that are blinded by nostalgia reminisce about the ‘Golden Ages’ of anime where everything wasn't centered around kawaii school girls doing cute things done by KyoAni, the latest Gundam series or a generic tsundere romantic comedy that is set in highschool, I couldn't help but agree with them that anime has fallen to a low whilst I rummage through the shows that have assaulted us this upcoming season. However, like finding a piece of corn inside a pile of turd, there was one show that managed to rise out of this sea of mediocracy, a show that managed to break the trend and have the whole anime fanbase batting their dicks to this show in rhythmic unison and that show is Attack on Titan.

It’s time to review the most anticipated show of summer and possibly the year. If you have been around anime forums lately, chances are you have already seen the words Attack on Titan (or Shingeki no Kyojin for you weeaboos who prefer the Japanese title over the English and your dream is to travel Japan to make manga), being mentioned quite a lot as it has been passed around more times than my mother and just as much people lining up to shove their hot, throbbing opinion down your quivering and underdeveloped throat about this show. People will claim this to be the second coming of Christ while the hipsters look at their computer through their big rimmed glasses, wearing their skinny jeans and all black chucks and scream over-ratedness from the get-go. First of all fuck off and secondly, if you are the type of person that will have bastardly high expectations after seeing all the attention it gets then stop reading this review, get your ass into gear and watch the damn show yourself to judge if it deserves its praise or not. You don’t have to be Einstein to figure out this show is a bag of mixed opinions so it raises the question whether it actually delivers or if it falls flat on its face. So does it live up to its expectations? To put it shortly, yes and no.

If you haven’t already gotten an erection from the synopsis itself yet, I’ll just have to repeat it again. The plot revolves around a small city which is pushed to the brink of extinction thanks to a species known as the titans who resemble the humans themselves, only that they are taller, fatter, dumber and have their peckers hanging out. Humanity is on its last leg and the only human colony left have to go to extreme measures to keep them alive, building a wall around their entire city to protect themselves from the constant Titan attacks. After witnessing his mum getting eaten out by a titan, Eren swears vengeance against them all and joins the Scouting Legion to exterminate them for revenge.

Alright, I’m not going to fill my diaper with shit and glorify the plot because it really isn’t the most original plot in the world as it has been done numerous times before and at times it just seems like another generic ‘monster of the day’ type story. The plot is very simple, no complex plot with deep and meaningful symbolism, none of that shit so if you are expecting stuff like that then you should go watch Mawaru Penguindrum or Baccano or some shit. The selling point of this series is the execution, as every time a group of Titans arrive it strikes fear into the very hearts of the characters and even to the viewers. It does a great job of portraying helplessness and the characters emotions are brutally realistic and makes us wonder, what would you do in that situation? When you see your friends and family members getting turned into a human buffet by these naked bastards, when there is no way out and that all you want to do is live a few more seconds of your pathetic life? Some people bitch, moan and groan, shit their pants, break down into tears or end themselves. It’s shocking, but you got to take into account that these are normal human beings just like us. Two words, fucking brutal. (7/10)

The characters are definitely the weakest part of this anime. The group is composed mostly of a bunch of archetypes, the aggressive male lead, the pussy, the comic relief, the cold hearted bastard, overly attached chick etc. That being said, each character has a unique personality and characteristics that add great value to the show. However without spoiling the side characters in this show are inserted and throw out like the leftovers your grandmother cooked for you, but then again this creates actual suspense and keeps you on edge and guessing who will die next and proves that no character is safe from the tyranny of the titans, not even your favorite character so welcome to reality son. This definitely adds shock value to the show and will make you shit your pants out of sheer awe at times.

The 3 main characters in this ensemble are Mikasa, who is flawless both psychically and intelligent as well who is essentially the sextoy between the two lads. Armin, the pussy that does nothing except sit on his ass and weep while his friends are getting their asses handed to them and then we have Eren, the ‘leader’ of the trio who takes plot armor literally and has a raging stiffy for revenge. This guy is one angry mother fucker and he is no different than your hot headed protagonist who loves to make rash decisions. However, the anime does a great job at fleshing these characters and his resolve is justified by the traumatic events he has experienced and as the series progresses you develop a connection with him. As the characters get development it becomes apparent as to why they have chosen to fight and some of their backstories are unsettling to draw sympathy to them. (7/10)

The animation is top notch and it is animated by Production I.G and known for their other high quality works (animation wise at least). The animation is very detailed from the characters to the backgrounds to the fluid action sequences. The art for the characters are well detailed with thick and dark outlining and portrays facial expression very well whereas the titans are crudely drawn and will have you laughing your ass off at their obscure faces first but will have you changing your underwear the next minute. However, focusing so much time and budget onto the animation will definitely have some drawbacks as the show is littered with still screens. Still screens that span up to 10 seconds at a time are found in every episode either to cover up for laziness or due to time constraints, but I digress, when duty calls and shit hits the fan you can expect to step up and whip their high quality animation out.

The music for this anime was composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, known for his other works in Guilty Crown and Ao no Exorcist so you can expect a top quality soundtrack. The first opening alone grabs you by the scrotum and won’t let go of you until the end of the episode or if your balls are swollen from malnourishment due to the lack of sleep. The music insert is very well placed and there weren't much tracks that felt out of place or just didn't fit the atmosphere at all. The music can really make or break a scene and in this case it definitely is the former and I bet Sawano is probably sitting at his home right now getting Yuki Kajiura to touch his monkey while jacking off to the increasingly large pile of money he has. The music does a great job of conveying moods into the show, ranging from music that gets your blood pumping, leave you in suspense and disbelief or whether it wants you to shed tears at the more heartfelt moments of the show. (9/10)

Attack on Titan definitely had one of the strongest starts I have seen in anime, with a gripping story, gorgeous soundtrack and art that will attract viewers from the first few minutes alone. However the show has a very simplistic and weak plot combined with a cast of fairly unlikable main characters which will turn some viewers away in disappointment and scratching their nuts as to why this garnered so much attention and hype in the first place. However, it certainly lived up to its expectations; every second was a thrill to watch and does a great job of injecting terror, adrenaline and sexual arousal into our pathetically fragile brains. This show was definitely the highlight of the season but if you are looking for something deep or complex or have unreal expectations coming into the show then you will be dick-limpingly disappointed my friend.

I just finished it and my jaw hit the floor many, many times.  In fact I think it's still there.  After episode 10 it was a pretty wild ride.  Yes there are some cliches and usual formulas but I found everything else to completely crush those.  The music, the animation, the action, the sound effects, it was all just 'right' for me. 

I like the despair.  I like their continued efforts in the face of futility.  I like a freak factor of the titans.  Eren, Mikasa, Levi, Armin, all formulaic but somehow they're packaged in a way that overrides their individual cliches.  Even Hange and Sasha are familiar and again the whole package just blocks out the small gripes I usually have. 

I like the mystery of not knowing the antagonist.  It's just one more episode, one more episode, one more episode.  Will my favorites die?  Will the Colossal show up? 

Just like I watch One Piece, I won't read the manga as long as they continue the animation.  Can't wait.  Lotta questions:

^ Pretty much. I begun reading the manga before the anime because of the big hype and hell it was worth it. The beginning episodes of season 2 will be freaking epic.
