I've always postulated that successive seasons are rated better on average, because the only people who'd continue to watch the series are those who've rated the previous entries in the franchise highly.
Of course there are exceptions to this theory of mine that go both ways, but I think it's still sound.

There is "Rating" and there is "Average". I go with the "Rating" since its lower. What do both of them mean anyways on AniDB? I guess the "Average" is overall of all the ratings? So what does the "Rating" mean? .... Hmm, slightly confused.

Probably weighted score and median score.
Weighted scores only take people who've seen more than X amount of eps afaik, whereas the median score includes everyone who's ever rated the show, regardless of how many eps they've seen.
It varies from site to site.

(click to show/hide)looks like chihiro is keima's first love...man that really hurt, seeing keima always imagining chihiro after "dumping" her...
i would like to see keima x haqua OR keima x tenri though...

Average is just the average of the votes.
Rating is the same, but weighted in some sophisticated way with the total votes on anidb for all shows, as people tend to vote with an average higher than 5/10.
