New ISP
« on: December 15, 2012, 08:58:14 AM »
Hiya,
I recently changed ISP services. So I can finally start uploading without the net being suddenly cut off.

But because I downloaded it on the old provider, can I still upload with the new?  Or does it track differently?

I hope this isn't a FAQ..

Sorry.

yes.
no, there is no difference in tracking.
as long as you are using your private key you can change IPs every 10 minutes for all we care.

Sorry, just to clarify.

The private key you mention, is unique to each account + torrent you download?  Which is what links the uploading?

While logged in, every torrent file you download will have your passkey attached to it in the 'Trackers' information.

Your key will be the same across all torrents, it doesn't change between them.

Your torrent client will send information back to the tracker using that personal key and your stats are logged.
