first ep out by HS, the first half was pure drama, I was like "damn is this shit going to be nonstop depressive!?"

but it seems like a generic romance thing. . .lets see how it unrolls . . .

This was unexpectedly quite good! While the setup was glum and heartbreaking it seems were in for some good romance / comedy which isn't as superficial as many series in that genre are

Hope they can keep it up

Sounds like my kind of show but based on the picture above, the character art is really turning me off.

So many feeling in the first half the episode. I hope its funny though, I can imagine how a perverted male and a mind-reader female will lead to humorous scenarios.

I doubt anyone's read the manga, have they?

first half had like 3 SaiKano's worth of sadness poured into it.

in less than 15 minutes.

second half was enough to clear all that sadness ;D

Kotoura-san is now dubbed "Bi-polar series of the year."

Well i already wrote walls of text elsewhere about the first episode so i wont repeat that but i will say i quite enjoyed it, rather a interesting sad story for the first half which i took to quite well (may your parents be cursed forever Kotoura-chan) and the second half was rather nice watching it smooth it out a bit with a more brighter present day life (well her classmates are still the same but she has a friend now).

Im expecting something great from this series non the less, i also think some good jokes could come from this guy's pervy thoughts being put into play with her mind reading xD I quite like her when she told him about her ability to read minds his reaction was he will have to be more careful with dirty thoughts - ohh that was a great response :p

I think I enjoyed watching the first episode of this show more than the other first episodes so far this season. Still have a couple to watch yet...

That was different.

I like the first half, the second was not bad but i hope the entire show doesn't continue just as the second half.
Sure would be nice to have somebody scanlating the manga, this way I can't wait to see the next ep.

This show nearly slipped past my radar, but I'm glad I decided to pick it up, because it has the most impressive first episode I've seen in a long time, if ever. Instead of this starting as a generic romantic comedy, it starts out more as a drama.

You do need a bit of suspension of belief, though, because one wonders why no one bothered to ask Haruka why she knew what they were thinking, or simply told her to keep her mouth shut. Maybe it's because she pretty much hung everyone's dirty laundry out to dry, but I still found it quite sad that everyone just started ignoring her, or that her parents even left her with her grandfather.

When the kitten was taken to a shelter, I thought she'd contemplate suicide. I think a lot of people would consider that at a time like this. Fortunately, she found one guy who accepted her. I like how he lured her out of her shell by thinking perverted thoughts about her.

I do think this won't be a straight-out comedy from here on. The OP suggests her mother will come back into her life, and I think our male lead will have something to say about that (if not Haruka herself).

WHY IS NOBODY SUBBING THIS!? :'(

The first episode was really good, so I can't understand why nobody is releasing this other than Horriblesubs (who I really hate having to download from).

I expected this to be a generic comedy, but it turned out to be something totally different and unexpected - and it was great. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it develops the story. I'm just disappointed that so few people seem to know about it, for some reason. Because this show definitely deserves more attention than it's been getting.

:D This first episode was really good, though it was sometimes really over dramatic.. Especially that cat scene, anyway imo, its the best episode so far this season.

Main Character better not go cheat on her / have a harem

Cause Kotoura has a tendency to go blank eyes and any more stress might end up being all bloody and shit

Anyways excellent 1st episode  :)

A really great first episode, this series looks very promising.  :)

I'm also wondering why nobody but HorribleSubs has released this series.

It's quite a dramatic show for a rather basic animation style. Just seems... odd.

I know what you mean. You look at the simple, colourful art and think "Ah, this must be some cute, straightforward 4koma-style comedy slice of life type show", then you watch it and it's full of bullying, violent family disputes, and characters parents committing suicide. It's quite a weird contrast.

It seems like a pretty good show though despite (or maybe because of) that. I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

I'm seeing episodes 1 & 2 at Nyaa, with several subbers.
I started d/l the "AnimeNow" subs, then read in the comments that there are complaints, oh my!
Are the different subbers really THAT different? Should I scrub AnimeNow and d/l another?
Still a newbie in many ways...  ::)
