Hello,
I recently jumped into two torrents. I read the rules a fair bit and understood my account faces a ban if my ratio is too low. Been using BitTorrent for at least four years now, and after all those years (and a few private trackers) I pretty much knew that seeding is quite easy, since I usually have no problem uploading far more than I download.
Unfortunately, this is not the case - I am able to download at blazing speeds (500 kbps ~ 1MB) and only able to upload a fraction of a kilobyte. I have plenty of peers to upload to (11 online peers on a torrent that's not seeding at all, and 9 online peers on a torrent that's only uploaded like a megabyte in the past hour) I read the
FAQ several times and I just can't make sense of it. Usually if I had this many peers I'd be able to upload much faster, I'm just not really sure why my upload speed has been severely cut.
I'll check Speedtest to see if my upload speeds are horrible globally and not just with this. I'd hate to get banned for something like this.
Upload speed is set to unlimited. I had to set download to as low as possible to keep the ratio at 1:1 and even THEN half the time I'm unable to upload anything.
Thanks.
EDIT: Getting 3 mbps upload. Just read the forums a bit more and a lot of responses mention a lack of leechers. 11 and 12 leechers for a torrent that has around 25 active seeds is considered low...?
EDIT2: I tried playing around with Initial Seeding and was able to get a constant upload of 1kbps, rather than nothing... hmmmm.
EDIT3: Should I just finish one torrent and hope that upload speeds increase? By the way, the first torrent is at 67% (3.93 GB) while the second is at 9.5% (1.78 GB).
