So,
Newsweek is running it's final print issue starting Monday morning. While I am a child of the internet, this does sadden me quite a bit. I am a tactile person, and there is deffinitly something different about reading a magazine and reading an online publication.
Especially considering that Newsweek was a print issue that did a good (read:better) job of mixing it's print and online content, to create a fusion that was fitting for this stage in our world. I suppose then, it makes some sense, that it is going out by "choice" and not being driven into the ground. It was bought out a while ago by The Daily Beast, which, I think, is only an online publication.
I loved the last cover, I think it's aesthetically attractive, and makes at least a bit of a statement. I'm not a big tweeter, but I can't ignore the importance that it currently represents in our society, and something like it will exist for quite some time. Our society is self centered, and having other people retweet things you've said is a big ego boost to us all, regardless if that's the intention or not.
Anyway, what do you guys think? Is print going to die out quickly, or will it rally in the coming years?
